Brilliant!
Phoned for a quote (even looked up a car for sale to use the details!). Asked if the 500 points still apply for getting a quote. She said is it the points you wanted? I said yes please. She said I can give you them without the quote!
I thanked her kindly.:j
Thanks MSE !0 -
Ooh that was easy...the 0113 number was out of hours so called tother one, got through staright away. Couldn't give a quote cos the car's not in my name yet, and told me to get one online, but will still get points! Sweet!0

easy peasy!!!
Just rang 0845 no. said i was ringing to get 500 clubcard points, she asked when it was due i said end Aug- I said, do i need a quote to get the points? She said no and put me through to another lady who asked for name and clubcard number.
Best to just be straight with them and say you want the points rather than messing them about!
Just got to get my Dad to do it now as i have a clubcard account in his name too. 1000 points for nothing!0 -
Just called the 0845 number and got through immediately. Said I'd seen a leaflet in store giving 500 points for a car insurance quote. They asked when it was up for renewal and I said September. They explained it was only for July but I could still have the points!!!! Thanks Martin:T0

Also called up, and said that my insurance isn't due until October, but was told that I could still have the points but they couldn't quote that far ahead. I was also asked to hold so my call could be transferred to someone who will take down my details. Only on hold about 30 seconds, and my name and clubcard number was taken down. Whole call lasted about 4 minutes. 500 points isn't too bad for 4 minutes work!!0

works fine with me :beer:0

I don't believe how easy it was. they didn't even want to give me a quote. I suppose we will get stuff through the post, as they have our addresses but I don't mind that.0

I phoned and was awarded the points straight away, without having a quote.Apparently, they are inundated and the staff seem to think that Tesco didn't think it through very well0

I tried the 0113 number at noon today (Sunday) & got recorded message that this line is only manned on week-days.
I then called the 0845 number and got the points fairly quickly without a quote when I said my renewal date is Jan. The call lasted 4 mins 15secs.
Anyone who was refused should try again as the same operative will never answer your call. Go for it0 -
I also work for RBS, the reason we dont want to give a quote is because we have to try and sell 1 in every 5 quotes we do and with this stupid offer on it's making it quite difficult...It's alot easier if you say to us you just want the points, saves us both the hassle of a 10 minute phone call. Like most of you have said it's an 0845 number, why waste your phone bill on a 10 min call going through a quote for something you dont want when if you just tell us it'll take 1 minute, if that!0
