Lot's of websites list things at low prices that they haven't actually got for sale. I hear it all the time,
"XYZ Ltd are £100 cheaper than you for the same item"
"That's a great price, I'd get it from them"
"But they are out of stock"
"Ahhhh, if I was out of stock my price would be £100 cheaper as well"0 -
So? they like the car? whats it to you? Each to their own.
They like the car, they liked the deal, why complain? As my wife has said of her BMW, she buys a car because it impresses her - if it happens to !!!! people like you off, its just an added bonus.
Doesn't !!!! me off at all, I find it quite comical and yet I feel sorry for people who feel the need to throw themselves into debt just to !!!! people off. Because actually nobody really cares, sometimes they realise this and i'm sure this is where they start driving like a d!ck (just to get some attention).Clearly not an affordability issue, but no point in paying more than you have to?
Bought a car on finance, it clearly is an affordability issue.Even a millionaire turns the lights off every night in their house
Certain lights in my house stay on all day long 365 days a year, because I did the maths and I know they cost me less than 20p a month to run.I know i have been any time i've been cruising about in a top end BMW
Perhaps someone will let you sit in theirs so you can know how good it feels?
No thanks i'll be in my home built kit car, beating your a$$ off every set of lights and grinning from ear to ear, built not bought, you can shove your vorsprung durch technik“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Its an impractical car because it hasnt got enough seats or room for its size. It doesnt have ability(ie offroad) for a 4x4 style car. Its not quick enough for a coupe style car and will handle like a 4x4( unsurprisingly). The 2k surcharge is additional punnishment for choosing the wrong car.

Is a difficult one, having just been through the process of buying a Merc through their approved site, it is not very clear that there is a general web site showing the price at each site, but I don't think that there was anything that said that price also available at other dealers.
I would do this, firstly get a screen print off the listing, and then ring them up and say that you believed the price for the car was X but it was advertised at Y. See what they say. Then if they don't give a good explanation that satisfies you (for example they might say, if you remember, we told you we bumped up the valuation of your PX car because it allowed us to give you a better deal on finance, but the cost to change is fair).
If you are not happy, ring up BMW UK and say that you feel misled by the Approved Dealer system as it was not made clear that they were adding a £2000 supplement to the price advertised at another dealer, you thought the screen price that your dealer was working to was the same as on the website and it should not have been necessary to go and recheck and if you'd been aware of the difference you would have travelled to the other dealer. BMW may feel that they would like the dealer to make a good faith adjustment to the deal.0 -

Because theres potential they're paying £2,000 too much? I would be asking for clarification. With £2,000 you could buy a kit car....Strider590 wrote: »

Really? Because you're coming across as someone with a huge chip on their shoulder.Strider590 wrote: »

And as i said, my wife, and other people tend to buy cars because it impresses them. Certainly i've had some really heavy duty cars but i've bought them because I want them.
Its fairly naive to think people only buy BMW's or other premium brand cars to impress others.
If you're financing a car against an asset, you're not taking a big pile of risk, particularly if theres a guaranteed value at the end.
Now, putting £43K cash in, that would worry me.Strider590 wrote: »

Clearly you care, otherwise why all the snide comments?
What does it matter to you?
I'd say most people driving nice cars couldnt give a monkeys about other people.Strider590 wrote: »

Another naive comment. It suits a lot of people to roll their car depreciation and running costs into one monthly payment, particularly if you get a company car allowance like my wife does.Strider590 wrote: »

Good for you! Maybe one day you'll have enough money to get a nice car too!Strider590 wrote: »

Grew out of the Traffic Light Grand Prix when i was a teenager, but if driving like a knob makes you feel better. I'm sure you make people titter - zooming off in your home made car. :rotfl:0 -

For kick off, they're a good sized four seater which is two seats more than my wifes car, so i'd say that shows practicality.
I dont think too many people take them off road, in the same way as not too many people drive Ferraris on a race track.
The slowest x6 cracks 0-60MPH in 7.3s and goes on to 138MPH.
The fastest diesel one cracks 0-60MPH in 6.3s and tops out at 147MPH
The fastest x6 has lapped the Nordschleife in 8 minutes 24 (Faster than an Evo VII)

Dont think they can handle? Here a vid of one being chased by an M3...
