BMW charging me more than advertised

Range rover sport was first. And not a cross over coupe. So not comparable.
mlc or gls and a 6. Where can i buy one of those right now?
the infiniti, again point taken not that popular here(yet, they seem to be launching) but not coupe enough to be comparable.
BMW caught the market by surprise with the original X5. Totally changed it. It took Mercedes and Audi years to catch up.
BMW are that massive now they can chose to put a car into pretty much every niche.
X1, X3, X5 as regular 4x4 offerings (they toyed with an X7, and we might yet see one)
X6, and very soon X4. as coupe crossovers.
1, 3, 5, 7 as four door saloons (and a 1 series hatch)
2, 4, 6 and soon the 8 series as 2 and 4 door coupes.
The z4 will be replaced in 2016 with the z5, which is suspect will push it up market a bit, leaving room for a smaller z3.
Then you have a range of superb engines...
Does the X6 answer a question nobody asked? Maybe.
Does that matter a stuff? No, not really. If it suits your needs and you like it, why not? At least its more adventurous than the bland euro boxes you see on the roads.0 -
But to put this to bed complete the following: The X6 is such a good design that the following brands have copied and/or have comparable competive vehicles:........
BMW themselves have an x4 coming out, which suggests the x6 is a success.
They're also working on an X2 crossover
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1090486_bmw-readying-new-x1-based-x2-coupe-crossover-report
The mighty Porsche have a x6 / x4 rival in the offing...
VW have one in the offing
Audi are working on the Q8
MINI have a MINI Paceman crossover
Range Rover Evoque
Mercedes
Do you want me to go on?
Just like with the original x5, its taking rivals years to catch up0 -

Correct.
Inappropriate borrowing is bad.
Borrowing used correctly, then theres no issue.0 -
The rr evoque again isnt caparible, more of a freelander2 sport as the rrs was of the L322. And a marque making more of the same is not the same as a good design.0

BMW bought Rover purely to get their hands on Range Rover, before this they didn't have their own reliable 4x4 platform (if any at all), the X5 shouldn't have surprised anyone.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Ok. For talks sake i'll give you that.
So back to your original quote
But to put this to bed complete the following: The X6 is such a good design that the following brands have copied and/or have comparable competive vehicles:........
.... Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and VW to name but four (and happen to be all their german rivals)
And other brands that have copied the idea into other markets...
... Range Rover and MINI.
And further models being built on the success of the X6.....
.... BMW X4, and BMW X2
And the fact they're only coming to market now shows how far ahead BMW were with the design when it was launched.
Like with the launch of the X5, it has taken their rivals YEARS to catch up.
Gee, it looks like you're wrong yet again...

Yet another example of BMW leading the way - they bought RR so they had 4x4 technology on which they built an entirely new market with - the X5.
Thanks
I hadnt thought of that!
Shows how forward thinking BMW are. :T
:rotfl:
AND it DID surprise everyone. Caught the rest of the market with their trousers down.0 -

Sol ....uninformed waffle...

Really? You havent read whats been written and have little in the way of a point. RR evoke is not comparable. Yet your refer to it again. And you refer to the mini. Which is made by....................bavarian motor works....again making more of the same design is not the same as a good design. You state bmw are forward thinking. Not an arguement to be had there. They are one of the german big three, which in itself is a by word for quality. But doesnt stop this car being inpractical. And mini that you reference frequently...what was the impractical model they made that had side doors opening into the road for the uk market? Or was that insightful too?
Are you sure you work in the industry? Someone who did would know there are good and bad cars. And accept it.0 -

I don't work in the industry.
Of course there are good and bad cars but to declare the x6 as a 'bad car' because in your view its 'not practical' is kind of missing the point.
What next, a Ferrari 458 is a bad car because it doesn't seat five??
