Thank you for your post :) and thanks for reading my diary from start to finish :)

And a massive well done on being Debt Free :) I can't wait to get my badge as well

So far so good this week, I know its only been two days haha but I've made lunch for OH (and myself) so no subway visits as of yet lol

That's one thing that is pushing me on is the fact my kids are still only 2 and 5, so with some pushing I am hoping they will be 5 asnd 8 when we are debt free (except for the mortgage) then they are still a nice age where we will be able to take them on awesome days out and holidays etc :) and I wont have to worry about school trips costs etc

OH still waiting to hear back from the graders at his work, should be this week or next week at the latest

And he rang the sols on saturday about the losses form we completed with the car crash (the insurance excess and car seats etc) they said they have all the paperwork they need, the drs reports etc for him and our son, and are sending the settlement figure to the insurance company I guess? who then need to agree it or contest it? I'm not sure of the process tbh, but I would like to know whats going on as we are using my mam's car seats for the kids which are ok for short term, but need replacing for more comfortable ones when they are in use all the time (but they come to £400 so we dont have that money at the moment till we get it back first) xx

Just checked the last outstanding credit card account for an up to date statement and it's there, so will be updating my signature later, my laptop is in the bedroom and OH is still asleep lol

Need to do my meter readings today as well, it's been colder longer this year than last year, our gas usage is higher than it was last year, hoping the weather is going to finally be nice so we can not have heating on, we haven't had it on the last few days cos it has been sunny, but have had to have it on sometimes.

Hope everyone has a good day, I have asda coming today, so should have a little bit to overpay later xx

Morning all, I'm feeling a bit low, I think it's because we don't know OH's new wages yet so I cant 100% plan my bills for July, I really wish they would hurry up and sort it out as he is doing the new job now.

We got our Tax Credit renewal letter yesterday, that's being reduced from £211 every four weeks to £16, and we have a £250 overpayment from last year (I expected an overpayment as obviously I did full time hours for three weeks in March, and OH was doing that promoted job for half the week every week for five months of the tax year)

So even though I knew tax credits would be reduced I didn't expect it to be reduced thst much, so that's added to the stress, so I'm just crossing everything that OH's new wages are increasing enough to cover the decrease in tax credits, a little more even would be nice (when wouldn't more money be nice lol) so we have more to overpay

I'm also trying to look into a pension scheme OH thinks he paid into years ago, he worked for the DWP in 2000-2004 for less than two years and he thinks he paid into the pension scheme and I think if you paid in less than two years you can choose to cash it out? Which I think will be a good idea, as it won't be worth that much by pension age so makes more sense for us to have it now if we can, ive emailed the pension provider so hopefully they can trace him and see if he did in fact pay.

I'm you going to get OH to ring the solicitors again today about the car crash claim, I really want our losses back! We need to buy new car seats and are waiting for the money from the insurance company for it

Well the sun is shining, I will try and get myself into a better mood xx

Hello :) I've just read your diary from the start to now and I just wanted to say that I'm really impressed at your motivation. That idea about using savings from the shopping budget to pay off your debt is great, I normally fritter away my food money so from now on I'll be keeping track of it and potting the rest into savings :D

Keep up with the great work, I'm sure at the rate you're going, you should kick CC10 by the end of the year :j

OH rang the solicitors today, it's still with the assessor, wish they would hurry up :(

Just done my asda order for this week, the guide price is £47 (and some pennies) so that's under the budget of £22, ive decided not to overpay with that this week as we have babysitters on sat night (not Tommorrow the sat after) (which is a rare treat) and OH loves the Jurassic Park films, so going to use that money for tickets for myself and OH to go see the film :) can't remember the last time I was at the cinema lol xx

Went to see my brother, SIL and nephew today in their new house, it's lovely :) it was SIL birthday today so took her presents round

Sent an email off to OH's ex employer to see if he paid into the pension scheme and see if we can withdraw the funds if he did pay in.

I'm shattered now, off to bed, night all xx

I have done something not MSE, or maybe it is lol, we have the basic Sky package and I got an email yesterday offering me sky movies for £6 a month for 6 months with no new contract (normally when you take up something new with them they put you in a 12 month contract) then it increases to £17 extra a month (no chance of me paying that). So I signed up for it, I figure I will know after a month if I like it if not and can cancel if at any time. Kids love it, they've watched tangled already lol, downloading Malificent atm which ive actually been dying to see lol

Need to do the meter readings once the rain stops, im hoping we won't have used much as the only time I've used the gas is when the water has been on for a few hours a day to have a bath, we haven't had the heating on all week.

Really want the rain to stop, we're going to the local fair today (they have rides, and food stalls and Classic cars etc) the weather says it will stop at 10am so fingers crossed

Have a good day all xx
