Hey all,
I haven't posted here in a while, been feeling a bit low, cos I haven't been able to overpay much since the start of the month but then realised that's silly because I managed to overpay quite a lot at the start of the month.
My payslip this month is quite healthy as I have four days overtime on it, not sure how much I can overpay in May yet, need to see what OH's wages are when his payslip comes this week, and it is my mam's 60th, I have £100 budgeted for her present and we're going out for a meal which I also have £100 budgeted for, I will be able to overpay at least £100 plus my normal shopping ones, I just don't know how much more yet
I hope everyone has had a good weekend xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hi everyone, it's payday and shopping day yay lol, shopping there was none left over from cos asda had a bargin of 30 x cans of pepsi for £6.74 which I just couldn't resist, I love pepsi but never buy it cos it's expensive lol, and bought the kids some treats, so no leftover from shopping

Made an amazing discovery last night while I was bored, my house has real old floorboards under the carpet!! This is a revelation to me as all the houses I had lived in previously had concrete floors lol, i probably sound stupid now lol.
I really don't like our sitting room carpet, it's a very red red, and I find it hard to go with anything
So I am very tempted how to look into what I would need to do to get the floorboards looking awesome and ditch the carpet, need to speak to OH ahout it though lol xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

We have had some epically awesome news with regards to OH’s job, he hasworked in his current job for 10 years, he started out as a IT assistant, butthroughout the years more and more work has been added to his job, but theyhave never amended the job description and he’s never gone up a grade etc eventhough his job currently is way more work than it originally was (he even hasapprentices to look after etc which isn’t in his job description)
Well he got a new senior manager in about a year ago (I don’t even knowwhat grade she is other than she is really high up lol) and finally its nice tosee someone in a high up job actually doing their job properly and taking careof their staff.
She went to see OH last week to tell him that she is re-writing his jobdescription as he clearly is doing the role of a manager now and not anassistant, and that she needs to get it approved with head of department to seeif they agreed, so she re-wrote his job description and sent it away and thehead of department has come back and approved it yay!!!! Such amazing news, soOH has been promoted as such, such awesome news and I am so proud of him.
The job description is now with the grading team at HR, who decide basedon the description what grade he will be, but it will be at least one, possibletwo grades higher than his current grade, so yay for more money (as well asfinally getting job recognition) so we are waiting with baited breath at whatgrade it is going to come back as.
I will need to ring Tax Credits as soon as I know his wages, as I am 99%sure it will remove us from being eligible, but hopefully the wage increasewill more than cover the loss of Tax Credits.
Fab news for us, and will make our DFD come even sooner!
I'm so proud of OH

Morning all, how is everyone?
I'm off work now till the 26th May woo hoo
Shopping has just been delivered so I have £9.85 to overpay on CC10 this week
Still waiting to hear about OH's new grade, I wish it would come through soon lol
Need to get my thinking cap on about nice lunches for OH for work, he's moved offices and now has an array of food places to choose from, and he's started buying a subway at least three times a week, which is £15 a week! Which we could def do without spending! So I need to think of some nice things for him to take, as all he used to have in the old office was a couple of tins of soup and some bread every day and understandably he's sick of that now lol
I'm going to start taking salads to work I think, ive seen them look delicious and they keep fresh in those mason jars, so that sounds like a good idea for me for three days a week cos I could make them on a Sunday night for my three days at work. I need to get some mason jars first though
I hope everyone has a good day xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Signature updated, slowly but surely they are coming down
Hit a wall with OH's car insurance, even though the crash was not his fault, his no claims is restricted to 3 years till the claim is settled, there is no dispute going on as we have a letter from the other parties insurance stating they are taking full liability for the accident, well when we renewed his car insurance we put no claims as 8 years, as that is what his true no claims is.
Was talking to my friend who deals with car insurance and she said we are gonna have to ring new insurer and tell them that the no claims is restricted to 3 years for now, my premium will go up, then when the car crash claim is totally settled and he gets his 8 years back they will either refund us the higher premium difference or just amend it going forward to a lower rate, what a PITA!!! So that is a job for OH when he gets home.
I'm off work this week, not much planned the weather is rubbish, I am going to sort through my daughters clothes and stick some on a local selling page or ebay, and I have a ton of clothes as well that are now too big, I will do them today I think
Then at some point this week I want to sort through all the kids toys and get rid of/sell the ones they are too old for/no longer play with

Morning all, not sure on the overpayment amount this month yet, will be at least £50, but OH got his flat wage this month as the extra he has been getting ended in April, and his new grade hasn't be finalised yet, his boss has said it will be backdated to May (not sure of its from the start of May though) so June's pay should be nice
Ive decided to change the shopping day to sunday and have upped the budget to £70 as OH has fallen into the trap of spending nearly £5 a day on subway Sarnies eek, so my plan is sunday shopping with things to make him a lunches, sandwiches, crisps, yogurts, biscuits fruit etc, I will still be doing my overpaying of the spare shopping money it will just be Sunday's now not Thursday's xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hi KOAG, just read your whole diary start to finish. You are doing brilliantly with your debt busting and should be very proud of yourself. It's definitely a great idea to get rid while the children are little and are happy bobbing about with you and Daddy. I wish I had had my LBM when mine were little - finally got straight 2 years ago when my "littlies" were 28 and 25. Would insert embarrassed smilie here if I could!
It's a great idea to do all those little overpayments from your weekly shop, keeps you motivated and soon adds up. And definitely need to get OH away from really quite yucky Subway bread and on to your lovely home made bread!
Keep going, you'll soon see the benefit of all your efforts when you start getting rid of those CCs. I'll subscribe and cheer you on from the side, I tend to lurk a lot. XMFIT -T5 #420
