Hi guys,
Just wanted to remind you all that if you need to contact tech support, don't forget you can use the chat client in Broadband Medic to speak to an advisor.
I did it the other night and it was quicker, cheaper and easier then phoning.
Granted not much use if your BB is off completely but for slow speeds etc...

VM offer tech support via newsgroups (xTelewest had these for years, xNTL added last year) how long they will remain with the up-coming cut backs to support I don't know.
News Server address (text only) text.news.virginmedia.com
See: https://www.virginmedia.com/newsgroups for details on how to set them up and the list of 'internal' newsgroups for support for all their services (note website has old new sserver address details). It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Had a letter today from Virgin Media saying they are scrapping the rip-off 25p/min charge from 1st June. :T
Here's what the letter says:
"What you think is really important to us and when you tell us that you don't like something we listen!
So we're getting rid of the 25 pence per minute charge for Broadband technical support and replacing it with a local rate number that's free when calling from your Virgin Media phone.
From 1st June, if you're having problms with your service, you can dial 151 from your Virgin Media phone to get help - for free! Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone"
Funny thing is, today was the first time in more than a year I had a problem with my connection, thought of calling tech support, then thought crikey Im going to have to pay 25p/min !!

If you still have some access, never bother with calling up, always use the support via newsgroups. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
