Just keep trying, if no luck, ask for supervisor/manager call back

every time i phone i get this patronising pr++k on the other ending using my first name as if he knows me saying i am in a contract even though i know 100 % that i did not enter another contract this is proper bulling and i feel so angry i am going to report it to watch dog, as i did not enter another contact , especially one that involves phoning a premium rate number.
Cancel on the grounds of the premium rate number, which is in breach of any contract you signed up with them on.

They will try to fudge you, but stick your grounds, if for example they tell you you signed up to the new contract, tell them you want a copy of the agreement you signed up for, they cant provide you with one, so you simply tell them that being the case, YOU ARE cancelling, as they have breached it, and any due payments they say you owe, are null and void,.......and not legal. Inform them you will be cancelling your DD from such a date, and have no intentions of paying any further funds on the grounds of the T&C of the breach.

Is it just me or do all the phone and internet providers keep letting us down? There seems to be positives and negatives for every provider!

We recently moved to a new house and deliberated for a long-time about which proivder to go with, decided on VM in the end but have had chew ever since!

I signed up online and waited weeks to hear from them about an installation date, when I finally gave in and phoned to find out what was happening - they had no record of me!!

Since then have had several problems with direct debits not being taken and VM telling me the bank have refused even though I spoke to the bank and they tell me the problem is VM. Worst yet is getting a bill last wednesday saying I owe 75 quid!! for 2 months dd and installation- wrongly charged!

Phoned up annoyed but nice man calmed me down and sort the charges and agreed the outstanding balance would be taken on the next dd. Thursday got a call from VM telling me I owe them money - went through whole saga again with him! Then friday get a letter saying FINAL REMINDER - never had one of them in my life but told not to worry as it was sorted!!!

Suprise, suprise no broadband from friday morning - too p***ed off to phone the premium number so just kept trying to get on, only realised when still not working on sat that we couldn't make out going calls! A very angry me phoned on sunday only to be told "it was the computer that had cut me off as it could tell something was wrong with the account"!!

Talk about a case of "computer says nooooo!!!"

I couldn't agree more. Have had Telewest broadband for over 3 years without any problems whatsoever, but as soon as Virgin took over the service was very unreliable and I spent more time trying to solve the problems than I did being connected.

I emailed Virgin to tell them how unhappy I was with their service and said I wished to cancel my subscripton. They only contacted me to ask me to inform them again with all the subscription details and that was it. I have now gone with Sky broadband for £10 per month instead of £25 I was paying to Virgin.

Seems a shame that they took over a successful and reliable business and ruined it.

I want to ask how long it took Virgin Media to cancel your services once you had made your complaint. I am moving at the end of the month and I am planning on using your complaint method to get out of my contract. I have emailed Virgin Media in the past but never received a response.

    Hiya,

Vermin Media (cool name!) told me my internet speed has doubled from 2MB to 4MB. When it doubled the last time (from 1 to 2), I could most definately 'feel' it had increased (not necessarily doubled, but that's ok).

Is there anyway to check if I am on a 4MB line?

I phoned Vermin Media and they want me to call a 0906 line..

    Thank you.

ps. anyone wants help with digital cameras, let me know!

    Hi guys..

After all the discussion above and sitting here thinking "thank god i've never had a problem with my BB", I have just used speedtest.net and realised i'm only getting 512k download instead of the 2meg I am paying for...

What are my steps for getting this sorted, do I just straight call tech support or do I need to check other stuff first?

    Cheers

    M

Using speedtest.net, depending on where you are pinging from, try a different zone, I found Birkenhead was far slower than Dublin for example

    Hey. Thanks for the link.

It says my d/l speed is ~ 3200kb/s . fine.

BUT it say my u/l speed is ~ 350kb/s. At the moment, the max u/l speed I have ever got is ten percent of that!

Does that mean, Vermin Media have have capped u/l speeds?

They deny CAPPING, the term used is Throttling, although they deny this too (even though it is on the website). both D/l and U/l speeds are effected, they put it down to "saturation". Another lame excuse for "cant handle it".
