  • Hi honeys

Well, I didn't do too badly, but in the back of my mind was thinking 'this isn't right for me'. Plus they kept me waiting for over an hour! So you can imagine how I felt.

Just had a call to say they liked me but had a candidate that just edged ahead. Slightly disappointed, but actually more relieved than anything. I think I need to get something with more prospects, especially if I'm going to take a salary drop.

It was a good practice run for my next one next week. But I'm not over enthused about that one because of the distance and the stress. However I'm told they are lovely so I'm going to go and try to stop talking myself out of it. !

Surprise surprise another two more local jobs have just popped into the horizon, so I'm going to try and relax a bit about it all and give it a bit more thought. I don't want to be moving jobs again soon after.

Thanks so much for your support, you are keeping me motivated.

This afternoon I have been making bread and cakes, so almost a no spend day apart from carparking!

    Hugs all round !!

 I wouldn't want to work for a company that kept me waiting for over an hour at interview stage! That would leave a bad impression on me and what does it say about how they operate on a day to day basis if that's how they treat interviewees. You are worth way more than that. Can you tell I have an intense dislike for poor time-keeping ;)

Definitely use it as practice and experience for the posts you really want and wey-hey, it's like buses isn't it? Opportunities coming up all at once :D Great stuff and treat it like debt busting - a marathon to find the right finish line, not a race to the nearest one.:)

Kick off those shoes, have a glass of something and get a firefighter, oops firelighter :rotfl: (Sorry had to let you know I hadn't missed that :D)

    Happy weekend now.

  • Why thank you Ali. Lovely of you to pop in. It's got to feel right hasn't it? I'm relaxing a little now and trying my best not to let the old worries pop up. I'm fine at the moment, no need to panic and I'm getting stronger every day.

It's frustrating in some ways as I want it all settled now, but sometimes waiting can yield better things. I feel like I have luck on my side or a guardian angel at the moment :A. That really helps.

Yes definitely going to crack a bottle this weekend 😄

Thank you for giving me some of your lovely positivity. I love popping in to your thread to see your steady and sure progress - wonderful!

Have a lovely weekend. Hope you get some relaxation. 😄

  • Just popped by try and find the lemon cake recipe. Couldn't find it so found this one on the tinterweb and just made 18 small cakes with the HM lemon curd made yesterday. Hope they turn out nice, but from licking the bowl, I'd say they are winners nom nom :rotfl:

    Lemon Curd Cakes

I've got to finish my homework in a minute before doing the weekly shop and then some interview prep this afternoon.

Hmm should I start a new thread - lemon cakes in the oven:D

  • Okay, lemon curd cakes made - delish (even though I do say so myself). Spent £45 at Mr T and got the £5 off next week - hmmmm - I may have to take advantage of the lentils and pulses that are on offer.

Just making another loaf now and washing up (well putting it off by going on the 'puter) :rotfl:

Homework has not been done :D nor the prep - it is going to be a busy Sunday :D

oh I did make some flapjack too. The house feels pretty tidyish (apart from the spare room which needs decluttering) and it brings a kind of peace. I have had a couple of almost wobbles today, but I have read the positive things on MSE and I believe I will achieve my goals. I am a hard worker and very capable - odd how people can try to convince you otherwise - well poo to them! :)

    Have a great day y'all. :)

  • Absolutely poo to anyone who tries to pull you down or drain your energy without giving something back in return.

I bet your house smells amazing, with all those tantalising baked goods. You are a domestic goddess in my eyes x.

Evening SS1K, You know I agree with Ali, They clearly werent right for you, anyone who lets a candidate wait for an hour isnt somebody Id work for either, still great practice and I bet you wowed them, excited to here more local jobs are coming up, that tells me the perfect one is coming to you, so a mock interview doesnt hurt at all...I truely believe whats meant for you will not pass you by and a wonderful local job with great prospects and amazing work colleagues is on its way to you!! Hope your having a wonderful weekend hun xX

  • Thank you Shelbi, my enthusiasm definitely waned as I sat there contemplating working for the company. I also tried to wheedle some information out about the previous occupant and I had a hint of it not being a totally happy departure. After my last experience I am not willing to rush into the vipers nest again.

It feels like it's not going to be a straightforward road, but I think you may just be right. I can feel someone around or something ahead that is very positive, I can't quite make it out yest, but it feels like someday soonish I will be able to say 'I love it when a plan comes together'. It will hopefully all have been worth it :)

We are thinking again of making the move over towards the South East perhaps not until I have finished my degree, which could be a year or maybe two, but it's a plan. The timings all seem to be coming together and part of me thinks that these experiences will put me in a good place to choose a new job when the time comes.

In the meantime I need to earn as much money as possible, pay off as much debt as possible, declutter ready for moving and learn as much as I can so that I can get a great job. Part of that is getting mentally and physically fit :). So thank you Whitefeather8 definite poo to the drainers. And yes my house smelt lovely, although I also bought some bold 2and1 in the purple packet and the washing drying has made the house smell even more wonderful.

    Positivity breeds positivity :):T

Right off to get my work started. Have a good positive day everyone :)
