  • Ahh, homework, no I didn't. D'ya know this is what happened when I did my HNC. I found all sorts to do rather than homework - I'm going to have to watch that. I have another week to do it and it is very simple so I promise I will do it tomorrow.

Thanks for the Wilko tip. I will definitely have a look - you're right - they seem to have all the old Woolies stuff. I also need some fixing plates to fit a mirror inside DDs wardrobe - I expect they'll be the cheapest if they have them. Ebay and Amazon - is a good reminder too - I need to get in the habit of checking all of them before I leave the house. Will make a visit to Wilko next Saturday morning after I drop DD off at her club (I'll get changed out of PJs this time) and will look at the websites this week, once the homework is out of the way.

You are so busy and organised anyway Ali, far more than me. That would be heaven to me, be busy all week and then chillax over the weekend. I was reading an article earlier about reclaiming your weekend and one of the ideas was to get a bit done during the week and say on Friday make a concerted effort so that the weekend was free. That's a plan.

Hope you had a good rest. I've actually not felt too deprived - I've made great progress, things are feeling good at the mo. :A

  • I am so with you on finding anything to do other than your homework. For me, it has been an epic day of cleaning, and batch cooking and ferrying the child from room to room as it seems she NEEDS cuddles. Usually a bit under the weather when so clingy so have kept an eye on her but my back is giving me the evils now.

The homework I have ignored? Meal planning *hangs head in shame* - tempted to stay awake after midnight tonight to see my YNAB go back into green territory. So sad. If I do, maybe I should make that meal planning time.

I am RIDICULOUSLY IMPRESSED with your declutter and get up and go today. I hope your large pork chop was cracklingly enough. I always get really good crackling. So much so that one year for Boxing Day mum gave me a pork joint and sent me home to cook it then bring it back. You know about scoring it, and rubbing a tonne of salt in, but your oven should be at 230 degrees for the first 20 minutes to half an hour, and then dropped down to 180 degrees thereafter to slowly cook. So crunchy crispy!

I'm very glad you are feeling much better than you were in April. Reading my own diary from December onwards, I can see it took me months to get to a point where I wasn't painfully sad most of the day. We all have times like that in our life. That's when it is good to have excellent people around us (you're one!) and something to focus our mind on.

As NSK always says, Onwards & Upwards!

  • I am just having a little rest in my newly de cluttered bedroom on the lovely made bed that I did before I left for work. :)

Been a bit hot and cold today - always when I'm thirsty or need a pee. I'm slightly suspicious of diabetes so am going for a check this week. It could just be my hormones but it's a free check so may as well go.

Sorry Lilty. Guess what. I forgot to salt the pork - what a twit. I also forgot to season the potatoes. Some of my Yorkies were undercooked. But it wasn't a total disaster. Bits were really lovely. It's leftovers tonight and I'll be following your pork recipe next time.

Poor Jelly. Poor back, I remember doing the same. Hope she is better soon as it does take a toll on you too. :)

Well, I starpted to feel a bit despondent tonight, but Shelbi set me straight. Positive vibes a plenty.

Right off to have a good evening. Have a great one all.

  • Hi SS.

Just dropping in to say hello and wish you good luck with all your decluttering, studying and job-hunting.

Your cluttering is going amazingly well, I am impressed. I have largely stopped doing any lately, the garage is in dire need of attention. :o

Your idea about reclaiming the weekend is a good one - I spend far too much of the weekend doing housework and I've often thought how much better it would be if I got all that drudgery out of the way during the week. Really must come up with a plan on that one. :)

Keep up the good work and stay strong.
  • Hahaha do not worry about the pork my lover, I am sure it was all delicious anyway! I have a knack with pork, chicken and lamb, but I ruin beef as soon as look at it, let alone getting it in the oven. :rotfl:

Yay to decluttered bedroom. You have set me itching at wanting to get rid of half my clothes and throw away anything that isn't meant to be in here! My bedroom used to be beautiful. I got a boost when a man came to look at my windows the other day. He was working on the flat below me and came up when he saw me looking after I asked him to :) very nice chap and he said at the end 'you know, this place is beautiful, did you decorate yourself? it looks wonderful and well cared for, you've a lovely home! Not like that guy downstairs... its a tip!" :rotfl: made me chuckle but also felt good as I had no time to prep! :D

Hope you have had a lovely evening :) I am off to sleep! xx

  • I did a bit of my homework tonight. Just a bit. Going to do the rest on Friday. Also thought I'd check the closing date for one of the jobs I want to apply for but haven't. It's today! Managed to cobble an app together and email it off. It's a job I could do and it would be more money but not my ambition. However, I wouldn't turn my nose up. We'll have to see. I've got one more app to do but that will have to wait until weds, closing date or not.

When I got home tonight a blooming bird had pooped on the velux I washed yesterday. Little !!!!! 🐔. Then I walked into DDs room and found a cricket on the floor 🐜. So I put him in a plastic pot where he proceeded to jump up and bang his head. I think he was slightly dazed by the time he got outside. Still I washed the window again and have washed up all but one dish tonight, which is soaking.

Confessions though I've put on 10lbs in about 4 months. How did that happen. Still I feel better than I did a few months ago. I'd like to lose it again, but this time not through stress.

I've also popped into everyone else's threads and am grateful for everyone's comments and advice.

Hi P&F. Yes I feel exactly the same. Too much weekend spent worrying about cleaning here.

Lilty is amazeballs, don't know how you do it, Jellytot is a lovely lucky girl.

Hey ho, starting to feel the need to drop off. Have a good sleep all. Hope I don't wake up until 6 pm tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

  • Couple of things I did wrong last night, like finishing that bottle of wine (but it tasted so nice) and then drinking water before bed as I was so thirsty. I also had tea and coffee in work.

Today I am having one cup of tea in work, then water the rest of the time and I am going to drink a pint of water when I get in, one at lunch and one during the afternoon.

I just jumped on the scales, heaven knows why and I have lost a pound. I'm so pleased I didn't have that extra piece of pie last night.

Work today and uni tonight so I may not check in later, unless I wake at 3 am, as I have some reading to do of some very good things people have sent me. If I could crack the sleep thing I'm sure I'd feel much better all of the time.

Anyways. Have a great day y'all.

    Supersaver over and out. X

  • Hey you... Oh deary dear to the wake up... did you get back to sleep at all?

Alcohol not very good for helping you sleep, which I find ironic really as it is a drug really and most have a sedative effect. Yay to losing a lb!!! :D I too have dumped on no end of weight in the past few months. I have a decided tummy! need to get my bum in gear but lacking motivation.

Hope work/uni is lovely and you have a good day altogether. Practice some breathing techniques and try and soothe your mind before bed. They say you should turn out all electronics an hour before bedtime, and have a bath or read a book for that hour to wind down.

Remember that cutting out caffeine all of a sudden can cause headaches/make you feel quite poorly for a few days xx

  • Thanks Lilty. I didn't get back to sleep at all. I am just so thirsty at moment - hotness probably causing that. I had three pints of water today and am still thirsty. Had a coffee this morning which was fine, but then had a tea at lunch and then a coffee during my lesson which I think was a mistake as I went really hot. Going to limit myself to one coffee in the morning and then fruit teas later - I keep forgetting - doh.
