  • Just had a LBM on your thread Gibby. I need to get clutter free and sort my home out. When that's underway I need to seriously be getting either extra hours or a fulltime job.

Plus carry on with my degree and looking after my beautiful Dd (paying attention to mindfulness there).

Then I can look at fitness etc

In work I need to work hard and learn and get very organised.

(At the moment I've been overwhelmed by it all, I need to get on track again).

I've seen a local job advertised at a lower rate than I'm on. However it's local, full-time and would mean £200 more a month. So I've decided to submit a good application. May not get it, but I'm definitely going for it. :)

Lilty and Gibby. Thank you. Xxx

  • De-cluttering LBM! I can completely relate to this!!!

My biggest issue was toiletries - but i would not bin them as it felt like I was binning money. I am so so much better but I have still got LOTS of toiletries. Currently sitting in America with a Aussie hair mask in as I would not bin it and took it with me on my travels.

I also realised whilst packing how many stupid ornaments and trinkets I had all round my house - this is something I am going to get rid of in New Zealand. I'm messy enough without a house full or ornaments etc. I have decided Candles and photo frames will be my main home ware items and that is it!

Goodluck girl! You got this!!! xx

  • Veronica - firstly, feel free to slap me. Of course you're travelling. What an idiot I am. I was only excitingly reading of it yesterday. My excuse...er...brain freeze? Stupidity? Either way, ignore my earlier comment on my diary, lol.

I second Shelbi and Veronica re: LBM. It's so hard when you feel overwhelmed, and often it freezes you so you can't see how to make a start, but it sounds like you're focused and I know you can do it! That job sounds like a brilliant opportunity. More money, away from known job uncertainty (if that makes sense) and either way, it's a step forward to apply, whatever happens because there are pros and cons it's win, win. Really proud of you lady! x

Veronica. Definite yes to decluttering. Need to prep for our next move south. X

Thanks Gib , yes feeling more positive today, thank you.

I'm going to say hello to Lilty too. I'm sure she'll be along in a min..

Sending lots of live all your ways. When I make it, it will have been a team effort !!

  • Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!!! I am so super excited for you! And very very proud. LBM's are brilliant for getting your mind in order. Like little blocks falling into place, they turn keys in your mind and open new doors!

Well done on applying for the new job! £200 a month is not to be sniffed at! It is what I have lost in tax credits in the last month and believe me, it is a lot of money!!! It would be brilliant for you, because you know you can survive on what you're on now, so you can throw that money at whatever you wish to!

And how well you know me! Of course I shall be here ;)

P.S if you're moving south... come live near me!!! :j:j:j lol, although it's blimmin expensive, and one day I may move back oop north, if I ever want to buy a house again... if I ever get out of the mortgage I currently have with my ex. Reminds me, must post on my diary about that!

Lots of love as always to you all... xx

  • Hi. I'm definitely applying now then Lilty. As you know, my quandary at the moment is to either push my career forward vs a lower paid but steadier role. Well I'd rather do the career promoting bit as it could mean a lot more money long term. However, we MSEers know that a pound in the hand is worth two that we mayget in the future. So I'm going for the job (caution obviously that I must think I'll be comfortable working there) but if I don't get it, then I have a plan (sounds like the A team - for those of us who go back that far:rotfl:).

The plan is my degree, plus skill learning, projects at work, and meeting with people who can help me progress. I've got another meeting today to pick the brains of someone who is very successful in my current field. I'm also spreading the love and offering my services in my current field to learn new skills, take on projects, collaborate.

Lilty - you have a mortgage  hopefully that is a good investment? Knowing you it probably is. I will look forward to reading about it.

My little bit of good news is that I didn't wake up at 3. I had a glass of milk, stayed up later and took a Nytol. Did about 12 until 6. Yayy, that's more normal. Going to do the same tonight but maybe 11. Then I would be a happy bunny.

Feels like it's all coming together. Thank you all for popping in recently. It's meant a lot.

  • Oh I am so happy you slept! I am a worrier about sleeping. So much so that my worry about getting to sleep is often what keeps me awake, especially if I wake up part way through the night! It has been weird ever since I read an inflammatory research article which pinpointed that within a week of getting less than 8 hours sleep per night, dormant genes which controlled factors relating to cancer actually wake up and start actively being used in the body. So in short = get too little sleep, have higher risk of various cancers and factors like heart disease etc. Like I said, inflammatory but enough to worry me!!

Regarding work, there isn't anything to stop you expanding your current career path in the future. Or doing training/Uni courses whilst working elsewhere. I am genuinely going to start training up as an accountant once Jellytot is safely at school, in my own time as it won't fit in with my current place of work, but would elsewhere. :) In the meantime, the job that I am in pays well and demands little currently! I am sure that your choice will be guided by the fates anyway!

Back to work, lunch over.. :( xx
