  • Thanks Ali. Late app not allowed but at least they know I'm here if the candidates don't come up to scratch. I'm also going to spread the word and am going to be more proactive. Had a confidence crisis again, but have decided to take the bull by the horns. My current role has more opportunity for greater earnings in the long run but I need to learn more so have booked a meeting with my manager next week.

DD made dinner tonight bless her. She also has an interview for a Saturday job next week. Really proud of her.

I need to stop the mopiness and spring into action! :T

I so hope I sleep through tonight. X

  • Hey you! I spent most of last night awake bobbing in and out of Sky News looking at referendum results! Between that and the thunderstorm and massive rainshower I basically had about an hour and am now doing the most boring job ever at work so it is putting me to sleep!!

Herbs... I am sure you can buy really cheap little crates in Wilko's etc! I am looking to do the same! :)

Yay for DD Sat job :D:D Bless her, and was dinner good?!

Action stations! Sounds very proactive ref talking with manager about further opportunities!

    Hugs to you!

  • Hey Lilty,

Was awake about half four I think and didn't get back off, so I had a look at a few job ads which felt proactive. I don't really want to leave my current place, but don't want to miss the boat.

Found a couple to look into and am going to send off my CV to one this weekend.

Dinner was great thanks. She is a real star. I feel like a bit of a bad mom at the moment as I'd love to treat her to a few things but I'm just up against it - plus I'm desperately trying not to mope around and rain on her parade.

Thanks for the Wilkos pointer - I'm going to try and get something for free first (may look on free cycle) - me MSE :)

First thing I did this morning was look at the referendum results and I have to say I'm very relieved for our own Scottish friends and colleagues who will be pleased I know.

Hope you get through the day okay - just wondering what the most boring job ever is. :rotfl:

Sending Hugs back at ya. :grinheart

  • The most boring job in the world is... Going back through 4 archive boxes all the way to April 2012, looking for a select 4-5 names in what amounts to approximately 20 reams of paper, printed double sided. I couldn't tell you how many names there are per page. 20-60 depending on what type of statement I am looking at. I haven't found a single name I am looking for. Which is both good and bad. It relates to commission payable. Not to mention compiling the client details and my non-results, making phone calls to confirm my paper trawling, and so on.

Yesterdays boring job was spending 2 hours researching the iPhone 6, and ways for bosses to upgrade to this 5 months early, etc etc etc. Due to bosses daughter breaking her phone and needing a new one. But it wasn't quite on a par with this.

My actual job is much more varied and fun. Although looking at the above you can't say that isn't varied... :rotfl:

I am sure there are ways to do it without paying. You know some bottles of posh whiskey/wine come in wooden crates which would be a perfect size?

DD sounds like a miniature hero. And she knows how hard you are working and what is happening right now as well you do. So she wouldn't put pressure on regardless of what she has earned. Sometimes it is about buying a tub of ice cream and getting yourself in front of a movie ;) Top Cash Back are offering 1 months free Now TV (Movies) subscription, for £10 cashback. You can cancel before the end. So far I have watched 3 movies I was desperate to see in the cinema and couldn't afford. Thor 2, Anchorman 2, and Dredd :D

Moping is allowed. Let her cheer you up. Remember to write down your positives.

*DD cooked, so you didn't have to and it was lovely
    * She is getting a Saturday job which shows an industrious nature, and the will to earn her own cash
    * The above reflects on how well you are doing as a parent... Fab job Mom <3

More hugs :D I am feeling a bit more awake. My back is very bad. But in a different way. So I have my pelvis in the right place, causing inflammation in my lower back (feels like I am carrying a little bumbag around) and have a bone sticking out funny. So I have a hot water bottle on it and have taken painkillers for the first time in a few days. These, being super strong, have made me a bit hyper and high! ;)

P.S Yay to sending your CV off... you go girl! :D

  • Wow guys - so much going on!

Really sorry that you're having so much trouble sleeping SS. Do you think there's something specific on your mind (don't feel like you have to answer on here if it's private). Maybe all the job stuff is playing on your mind, given past things? I can recommend some good resources if you want re: relaxation / mindfulness / challenging negative thinking / insomnia etc. PM me if I can help.

DD does sound very good, but remember how much you've done also; you are a good team, and can support each other, which I'm sure you already do :)

Loving the Mary Berryness. Mary Berry is awesome. I must try to make something when things settle down. I've been tempted to try and make pasties (before I get back on my diet of course) and I saw Jamie Oliver do the cutest little coconut steamed buns which looked pretty amazing (not a fan of coconut usually but it was curryish stuff which I could cope with).

How do you make your pizza dough if you don't mind me asking? x

  • Hi Gibby - I've just been to yours but you were at mine :rotfl:

Pizza dough - I just made some bread dough, let it rise then knocked it back, rolled it out and topped it, then cooked it.

But there's a nicer recipe here on BBC Good Food Margarita Pizza. I did it in my new food processor which incidentally is absolutely fine. Yes its very cheap but I've just made two loaves of bread and didn't have to knead it for 10 minutes - just 1 minute in the processor (same for the pizza). I haven't bought any bread for a week or so now.

I really need some relaxing etc. and I especially want to practice mindfulness - please send me any resources if you don't mind. Yes my job definitely playing on my mind - my confidence has been so knocked. I thought changing jobs would help, but I think the instability isn't helping at all. Still, I have to think that my health is much better than it was and I'm not looking as haggard or feeling quite so drained.

My cooking is really helping, you must definitely make those pasties. We made samosas the other day and they were like indian pasties. The insides were spicy potatoes and peas - they were delicious. Coconut buns - yum. DD made some coconut biscuits this week and they were double yum. x

I must say hi to Lilty. Keeping me motivated and up as usual. Thank you so much - it all makes sense and I agree. Makes me feel very good. :)

Sorry about your back - hope its better soon. Take care. I could do with being a bit hyper and high (only joking). I'm going to pop over to yours in a min - your royal high-ness. x

I'm up and about too :D Shouldn't be and no idea why either - the one morning I get to sleep in and I'm up at silly o'clock.

    Kettle on though

I had chamomile and honey tea then went back to bed and woke up not long ago feeling shattered. I should have stayed up I think! Even the dogs are a bit dopey now :rotfl:
