Carrot cake in the oven

Well my decluttering didn't go to plan again. DD was poorly and I had to bring her home. She wasn't much trouble as she was full of a very bad cold.
I've cleared the decks ready for today:
Finish the kitchen
Finish the bedroom
Start on the spareroom
Two job apps
Uni work
Clean the velux windows
Look at places to live near Lilty :rotfl:
Read my thread again - that will be this evenings task, especially looking at my old lists.
Really need to clean the oven too. DD baked a cake in one of those tins with a loose boy you and all the cake mix ended up on the oven floor not sure if she made the mix too liquids or whether it's a bit bentOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Not on my list, of course but I've given the bathroom a clean. I really need to finish the bath seal again but am umming and ahhing about the poly cell bath seal strip. Seems to have poor reviews but good from some and it is a cheap fix, which is key at the moment. Whilst I was investigating the alternatives - Homelux from B&Qoo - I came across someone extolling the virtues of trainer whitener for brightening up grout. I've got an ancient one in the shoe cleaning bag so have been whitening my grout this morning. Looks quite good, but not sure how long it will last, although I have loads left. Still not sure about the seal so may pop into the DIY centre to have a look later.
I've also washed the car where I pranged it and it's actually not too bad. I've got a touch up pen so may give it a go. Think I'll ask the chips away man for a quote first and maybe go to my usual body shop man (who has had quite a lot of my business sadly).
The kitchen has had another tidy and so has the bedroom - they aren't finished but are now manageable for evenings etc. my main area of concern now is the spare room
Not sure if I'll manage it today as it's become a dumping ground. I really need to apply for those jobs and do some homework.
My first two tasks are to clean the veluxes and sew the missing ring onto the blind! Hi ho!OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Quickest flyby!!
Please come and live near me!!
I've done ironing, two loads of washing, changed my bed, made a christmas card (and I am so proud!) and am just about to tidy the kitchen surfaces and do a mega cook off!
Love to DD for her cold. SO proud of you for keeping going and keeping cheerful on the de-cluttering!!
Back later when I can sit still without a cookie monster divebombing my bed with chocolatey crumbs when it is brand new!! xx

Would the two of you please come declutter my house please? I'll be very good if you do0

Hi Lilty, it's going to be 18 months before I can look in earnest, so hold that thought !
Have just been to Mr A as we are having a roast tonight. I got the tiniest pork joint ever a few weeks ago on the 3 for £10 offer so it was £3.33 and I had a pound off a pork joint so it was £2.33. It's more like a large pork chop :rotfl: have got to try And get crackling on it  otherwise Dd will not be happy. I'm scared.
Well I've cleaned the veluxes and the ladder is now back in the spidery cobwebby shed
I've bought a cutlery stand for our toothbrushes (£1 in Asdar) looks good. Old clothes all donated to the Dorset Air Ambulance via the clothes bank. Coat hangers gone too.
Had a look in B&Qoo and the bath seal looks good. I will set Mr SS onto that one next week.
Right I just need to sew the ring on the roman blind, Hoover downstairs and then I'm going to cook the roast. Then it will be job applications and uni work.
Next weekend is going to be the spare room and then the lounge. I'd like the spare room to be a place to keep my sewing things but also to have a TV etc in. My lounge is a bit dated, we have lots of old ornaments that really need to go as they aren't our style. We have some corner units that need chalk painting too, but that's going to be after the decluttering along with the kitchen chairs etc.
I am so motivated at the moment Lilty and the house is starting to feeling very clear.
Killerpeaty of course we will come and declutter, but you know it is very satisfying. I'm working my way up the ranks as Lilty is Senior Clutterbuster. Perhaps you could join and be an apprentice like me?
Right off to tackle that blind. :rotfl::rotfl:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Maybe you could car boot your ornaments? I'd say ebay them, but I find it a pain.
I don't know if you collect nectar points, but you can collect them at homebase which in my experience are similar in prices with BnQoo. I've also had good experience with them when there was a problem with something we'd bought (free shower tray anyone?)
Nooooo! I do not want to declutter anymore! After my dad died we got rid of over 20 computers! There's still more! Always more rubbish to get rid off in this house.0 -
Oh my word - 20 computers! That's serious clutter. Well I'll stick to being the junior clutter buster on me own then. :rotfl:
Yup I ought to give Homebase a try although I think ours is closing soon - not sure if its going anywhere or just shutting. Its also worth waiting for their 15% off as well - any saving is great as far as I'm concerned.
I've just been looking back through my postings in April when I was really feeling bad. I feel so much better now, but its taken three months to get there. Yayy for my lovely MSE friends, I don't know where I would have been otherwise.
Right, roman blind fixed (with free ring from neighbour), downstairs hoovered and my notice board (nicked from DD) is fully written up with dates and to do's.
Thanks Peaty - I'm not sure about a car boot as I have given away a lot of stuff, but I guess I could do an ornament stall and see how they go - I really don't want to do ebay with them as I couldn't bear it if they broke. I guess I could try gumtree first - there are things like a Royal Doulton Horse and a few figurines. The rest is probably charity donation able. Isn't it, if its not seriously sentimental, useful or beautiful then get rid of it? We're going to have some empty cupboards - but that's for next week.
Better get on with dinner now. See you later. SS xOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Alright SS you got your way- I did some cleaning. You poo!
Everyone gets a bit down, I think that it's usually the body's way of getting you to do something.0 -
Yayy for the cleaning !! Hope your head didn't get in the way

Well done on your all those jobs SS, haven't even lifted a duster, let alone decluttered anything this weekend
Have you checked out Wilkinsons for DIY stuff? I find them much cheaper than both H0mebase and B&Qoo. Or from eBay or Amazon for small things like seals.
Hope you got your homework done too.Back on the DFW Wagon:
