Is it ok to wear red to a wedding?

Oh there are rules. Don't ever make a post saying you are thinking of wearing leggings under a dress or tunic.
What's wrong with wearing leggings under a dress or a tunic? As long as they aren't the ones you wear whilst slobbing around the house where the knees gave gone baggy or with holes in, then I can't see a problem myself.0 -
I wore red to my own wedding and actually the photos that looked best were the ones where people like my mum and MIL were in them also wearing shades of red/maroon etc. My SIL in turqoise stood out like a sore thumb. I think red to a wedding is fine- lovely colour. If you rule out black, white, green and red it doesn't leave a lot. I would probably tone it down with different coloured accessories eg black or navy if its winter.0

Just wear what you like. Who cares about stupid rules? People who take notice of such things are petty small minded individuals whose opinion counts for nothing.0

Wow, so green is unlucky, red means you're sleeping with the groom, black is for funerals and white or cream is for the bride only.
No wonder you ended up looking at a load of brown dresses :rotfl:
Brides aren't supposed to wear green in case people think its to hide grass stains:

You know, after all these years of going to weddings, when the only rule was only the bride (or baby bridesmaids) wear white - I'm amazed that all these "rules" have now popped out of the woodwork.
It just shows how things change - when I got married (and I think right up to the time that DD got married, it would never do for a man to attend a wedding not booted and suited - nor would a woman turn up not wearing tights or stockings! Either of those would have been commented upon. And of course hats. All girls and women would be wearing hats!0 -

I agree, but other people don't. Been discussed in previous threads.0 -

I think it is fine. Honestly, on my wedding day there were people in red, green, black and white and if you had asked me when I got to our room that evening what people had been wearing - I would not have had the slightest clue. I have only really noticed outfits since, looking at the photos. I was so busy and so euphoric that
my female guests could have been wandering around in nipple tassels and I would not have noticed or cared.
now those would have made interesting photos!0 -

Because obviously the first thing people want to do when they get wed is roll around in the grass with their hubby
I think some people have vivid imaginations.0 -

Anything that's been around a long time, like weddings, is bound to collect a fair few superstitions and traditions along the way.0
