I heard once that it's rude to write in red, but never heard about it being rude to wear it to a wedding.

My mother in law wore red at our wedding.
I didn't care what anyone wore tbh!

I have heard of people give guests orders on what to wear, I find that quite odd!

This made me laugh so much! I adore red shoes but I was never allowed to buy a pair as my mum said the exact same thing. After I got my own place I eventually bought a gorgeous pair, wore them out to a works do and was promptly asked if I was heading on to my 'second job' after the party. It appears mum is always right!

Nah, just means there's more than one person bereft of the ability to make appropriate conversation.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Crikey! My faithful work shoes are red. Well, oxblood, but it's still in the red bit of the spectrum. And they're chunky little Doc Martens with a strap & buckle, like school shoes. I get quite a few compliments on them but no rude comments so far.

Mind you, if anyone did make cheeky comments, I could give them a hard kick! :D
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

Red means you're sleeping with the groom.

I'm sure you're not, but that's why some people think it's rude. Ever heard the expression 'scarlet woman'?

Someone came to my wedding in a red dress, she did once have a drunken kiss with my Hubby many moons before meeting me, oh and she slept over at our house the night before and went out with Hubby and a couple of his friends whilst I stayed in a hotel with my maid of honour. Should I be worried? ;)

At the time, she was a friend of his (I didn't really know her) and she only knew him at our wedding. Everyone remembers her as the tall blonde in the red dress but no-one commented on her being a "scarlet woman" or suggesting she was rude to wear red.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

I'm toying with the idea of asking ALL the female guests to turn up in red... my husband-to-be is a bit of a ladies man, and it would cause me ALL THE GIGGLES in the world to suggest that he'd slept with every woman in the room (obviously apart from the ones he's related to!) ;-)
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A
