Is it ok to wear red to a wedding?

Just looked through our wedding pics and at least 11 guests out of 100 were wearing at least some red (kilts included)
SiL was in red and black.

So if the dress is not some body con va-va-voom hoiked cleavage job, then I don't think red is an issue (as long as it is not a colour in use for the wedding party)
And as long as it doesnt have tiny buttons all the way down to your bum. Can anyone remmber what Pippa Middletons bridesmaid dress looked like from the front? without googling itErm, I was joking:rotfl:....

It's fine to wear red in a wedding...but I think it would be perfect to wear it if the wedding is in the evening0

I got married in red. White/ivory/cream *really* washes me out. I tried a red dress on very early on and looked fabulous. And yes, I had slept with the groom :P
I worked out at the time that out of my Gran's 17 grandchildren, there have been five marriages with a bride in red. It's obviously something our family does.
About a week or so before the wedding I was talking with my Aunt (who is also my godmother, and very close to me) about what she was wearing. She showed me a red dress, almost identical in shade to mine. I said "oooh, we'll be matching". She wanted to change what she was going to wear but I said not to, it's not as if anyone would mistake her for me (although if I look at photos of her 35 years ago, I see myself). We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Thought I'd update. My dress looked lovely and there were ladies in much more inappropriate dresses there - short body con with mass cleavage, tight and split up to the hoo haa and one girl showed up in a white lacy dress, which was confusing as the bride changed into a different (totally non-weddingy) dress after the first dance so the girl in white looked like the bride.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Did you come to my wedding? I got changed after the first dance as my dress was so heavy and hot lol0 -
I've heard tradition is that you shouldn't wear red to a wedding - I think it's a long died out tradition though.
Wear it unless you think the bride or groom would be offended, in which case, find something else.0
