I have a sneaking suspicion that there might be quite a few of these switches (not by Lloyds, but by the company handling it for Lloyds) to get shot of magazines that are difficult to shift.

It hasn't been switched to Harper's Bazaar by any chance, has it?

YES! I thought Harpers Bazaar was one of those daytime TV antiques shows!!

Magazines are on a sale or retun basis so it should make do difference what ones they 'sell'.

These are subscriptions, direct from the supplier. Sale or return applies only to shop sales.

Thanks - I wonder how many more they've switched to Harper's Bazaar in the hope that people either don't notice or don't complain.

    I smell a large rat. ;)

I smell another formal complaint coming on. It'll be the third so far in the whole fiasco of setting up mine and the missus's Club Accounts. At I least might get a bit more compensation for their incompetence.

Try Lloyds Islamic Account. There's no interest on it and there's no charges even if you go overdrawn, in fact there is no facility to have an agreed overdraft at all. Even so going overdrawn will not incur any charges! If you don't keep a lot of money in your current account and your interest is pence per month, the Islamic Account would be ideal. However, I am at present in the middle of a dispute with them about it and have involved the Financial Ombudsman as I consider it discriminatory on either ethnic or religious grounds. Both of which are illegal.

Lloyds Islamic Account is available to anyone who wants one, so where's the discrimination?

Is there anyway to easily change my direct debits over from my old current account to the Club Lloyds? They've told me I need to go into the branch, which to be honest is a bit of a pain as it's at least an hour's round trip, plus paying to park etc

I know I can change them on the site, but the two in question are my student loan (and we all know what a nightmare they are to deal with!) and my Just Giving account, which I can't seem to be able to change online.

Ah screw it, I'll just create two new ones. Can anyone recommend any good charities that accept direct debits pls? WWF will be one, but the other places I've looked at only seem to accept card.

Open the two savings accounts TESCO offers. Pull in £1 each into each of these from your Lloyds current account. TESCO will process them as DDs from your Lloyds account.

Does anyone know more about the mortgage discount??

We got our mortgage with c&g 5 years ago, which I believe is lloyds? the rate is due to drop from 6.29% to 2% above base rate 0.5%, am I right in thinking that if I switch my current account that I have with lloyds to this new account my mortgage rate will be 2.3% instead (thats if I am right in thinking that C&G mortgages = Lloyds)

    Thanks in advance
