If I moved two direct debits, but one of them is for a store card that is not really used much so therefore does not get paid often, would that still count towards one of the direct debits? It is still active on my current account.

They've counted for me as long as the Vantage accounts have been available, that includes Lloyds, TSB, and Halifax/BOS.

    So yes, they DO count.

Yes we did this with our Vantage accounts but when we changed to the club we were told we could no longer do this and it had to come from another source other than Lloyds. She said it could come in and go out the same day but had to be another source.

Someone on another thread has said this is not true.

Has anyone done this using LLoyds and it been ok?

No it has to be monthly.

I had a store card DD on my old Vantage account and was told I could not use that for the Club.

Yes.. Used a Lloyds rolling standing order and it works for both me and the missus.
They are talking utter rubbish. The funding can come from anywhere including another LLOYDS account. There is nothing in their T&Cs to say otherwise

One of my direct debits which I am transferring over to this account only pays out 10 months of the year.

My account was set up by an adviser at the bank and she insisted that this one would be ok. From what I have read she is incorrect but at least it will be ok for now and I will find another one to replace it in the next few weeks.

A couple of times she said to me that she had learned something. I asked about setting up a new separate account instead of converting one of my vantage accounts and she had to go and see if that was possible.

The other thing she said was that I could not open a club monthly saver as I had a monthly saver already. I queried that and again she had to check and found that I could have the two monthly savers.

What has happened to the training of these advisers!!

If this is your Council Tax, then many councils now give the option to pay over 12 months.

Yes. In fact, thanks to recent legislation, all councils in England are required to offer this option.

It is not council tax - it is my water rates. I am with Severn Trent.

I'm getting a higher discount with my council tax via my Santander account so did not want to change that one.

    Edit:

Actually I've just checked. I think I have made 12 payments this year - I know at one time it was less.

    Thanks for the reply.

I thought it was strange but she was adamant -I would really love to know why!!

Looked for an email address to query this with them but there is not one on the contact page, you can tweet them but not email it would seem!!
