    Thanks for the reply.

I thought it was strange but she was adamant -I would really love to know why!!

Looked for an email address to query this with them but there is not one on the contact page, you can tweet them but not email it would seem!!

The reason why is they want New money into their coffers.

Ring up customer services if you need it clarifying and if they spin you the same yarn ask them to show you where it is specified in their T&Cs that it has to be new money.

Perhaps because she was desperate but not serious?

Has anyone else found that they've switched the magazine ordered to another one?

Try Lloyds Islamic Account. There's no interest on it and there's no charges even if you go overdrawn, in fact there is no facility to have an agreed overdraft at all. Even so going overdrawn will not incur any charges! If you don't keep a lot of money in your current account and your interest is pence per month, the Islamic Account would be ideal. However, I am at present in the middle of a dispute with them about it and have involved the Financial Ombudsman as I consider it discriminatory on either ethnic or religious grounds. Both of which are illegal.

Why bother going to all that trouble. If you don't want that type of account don't ask for it.

Not sure what this is to do with the Club Lloyds account but just to say the information you posted is not fully supported by what Lloyds say about their islamic account.
If there’s not enough money in your account to make a payment, we won’t usually complete the transaction. In some instances we may agree to cover the payments with an Unplanned Overdraft. In either case, we’ll charge you a fee (unless the Unplanned Overdraft is for £10 or less). Please refer to our Banking Charges guide for more details

    Islamic Account
Our Islamic Account is Shariah compliant and Planned Overdrafts are not available. Where you do not have enough available money to make a payment, we will not usually agree to provide an Unplanned Overdraft and the Returned Item Fee will apply. If we do give you an Unplanned Overdraft, you will be charged the Monthly Overdraft Management Fee of £6. You!will not be charged interest or Unplanned Overdraft Daily Fees. We will not charge you if your Unplanned!Overdraft is £10 or less

I would suggest that if you want to discuss this further you should be opening a separate thread so people can continue to concentrate on the Club Lloyds account in this thread.

Yes.. Email quoted different mag from what I ordered and what my Club Lloyds profile says though yet to receive anything. They are looking into it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that there might be quite a few of these switches (not by Lloyds, but by the company handling it for Lloyds) to get shot of magazines that are difficult to shift.

It hasn't been switched to Harper's Bazaar by any chance, has it?

Don't quite follow that! I didn't ask for one and it's no trouble. I'm retired and have plenty of time and it gives me something to do! But I'm certainly thinking of switching, possibly to Halifax.
