New Lloyds Club current account

On the 2nd May, did everyone get a £5 charge followed by it being reversed "Club Card waived £5" - just wondered because I met all the terms last month, paid in more than £1,500, 2 direct debits etc - wondered if they did that because it's the 1st month or if they're going to show that every month. Just thinking now, the £1,500 hasn't got to be deposited in one go has it, mine was a combination of 3 or 4 deposits?
Me too! I was thinking it was normal till I read Gromit's post. Hmmm...i paid in the 1500 and have two DD's in place. I guess I will have to see what happens next month. ;p0 -

Transfers between Lloyds accounts will work. ..as all of us who have rolling standing orders between Vantage Accounts and now Club account can testify.
There is nothing in their T&Cs stating where the monthly funding has to come from.If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -

No charge here either.
Club Lloyds opened 2nd week of April, initial deposit of £1500 (and back out) from my Classic Vantage a/c shortly afterwards to get that requirement out of the way.
Small amount of Interest added 1/5/14 as full £5K not put in until 2 DD's were established later in month.

Yes me too, will have to wait & see next month. I can understand now how their system might be to automatically charge the £5 monthly fee, then check if we've met the qualifying terms & then execute the £5 waive reversing entry. But I'd have thought then that would apply to everyone & it's not just Gromitt that neither entry has appeared but FunkyFreddy too.
Hmmm... mysterious, just hope they're not going to it try on & point out some hidden term we haven't met from somewhere??0 -
I have a theory on this, but would someone else who opened the account the launch weekend 31 march be able to check theres?
I too have the £5 club fee on 2 May and then a reverse stating it was waived and a payment of the interest (12.92 in my case)
However, I also received a small payment of interest on 1 April (87p) for the pro rata period from opening date to end of the first month. But at this interest payment had no note above ref the charge and the waiver.
Reading the posts from Gromit and and FunkyFreddy, I think they opened theirs in April so first payment of interest is this one, and they have not got the reversal so my thoughts are either:
1. The first month doesn't have any conditions applied to it to allow for people to fully open, start setting up dd's etc.
2. Lloyds they've updated their systems and the update has not been rolled out fully yet, i.e the message is only there if opened before x date.
Did those who got the message also have the account open to get last months interest? if so did you have the message this month but not last month on the statement?MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Yes interesting theory Anna & I think you might be right, I haven't an exact date I applied but I was contacted about my Lifestyle benefits on the 2nd April so I guess I must have opened my account around the same time as you. That would make sense as this is not then our first month, unlike Gromitt & FunkyFreddy. My interest on 2nd April was just the normal amount. So I'm hoping you're right & everyone will get the £5 charge followed by the immediate waive AFTER the first month. We will see, hope you're right.0 -
A quick question if I may, I am going through the setup process for my new Lloyds club account the account is in place just waiting for activation code. Can I fund the account and start the process of putting the DD’s in place while I am waiting.
I am aware I have limited access to the account at the current time but as the DD’s will take possibly ten days approx to put in place I thought I should get on with it. I also noticed the setup process is the same as the new TSB account I setup and I funded that before I had full access to it.
All replies appreciatedI choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
I have opened my club lloyds account. I am trying to set up the direct debits. Do I do this on the tesco bank or on lloyds? Been on the phone to tesco and they say I need to do it through Lloyds. Sorry I am being thick!0
