New Lloyds Club current account

That's a new rule then getting nothing over £5,000:eek: Does that mean you don't get a bean if you go over £5,000? Sorry if this sounds a dumb question.
On my current Classic Vantage I at least get the full amount of interest up to £5,000 and it is only on anything above that figure where I don't get interest.
You still get interest. You just won't get it on any amount you have above £5000. Its exactly the same.0 -

I'm sure I read somewhere that Lloyds wont give chequebooks to those who have a CPD marker on their account. If I try and apply for an overdraft, it gets referred and asks me to call them, rather than a straight out decline, so I'm guessing I don't have a CPD marker. Hopefully not anyway. I'll ask them when I request a Contactless card in a few days.0 -

One good thing though they will text us when the account falls below 4000 and goes over 5000 as the interest goes down to 2% and you get nothing over 5000.
Surely they will only text you if you have set up an appropriate alert. May be they set this up for you whilst you were talking to them? The default is no alerts but obviously it is child's play to set up all sorts of alerts.0 -

Try clicking the upgrade button in online banking. If the Platinum account is greyed out then it means your not eligible for a full debit card.0 -

There's two upgrade buttons - which one?
If I click on my Club Lloyds account, then 'Upgrade' next to my balance, it shows this http://oi61.tinypic.com/vzwy2f.jpg. If I click on the 'Upgrade current-account' on the right under 'day-to-day banking', it shows this http://oi58.tinypic.com/w80srd.jpg...
I don't want to click the Upgrade Now button in-case it.. well.. upgrades. Haha!0 -

The second link is buggy if you have the club account. You appear to be eligible for the Platinum account on the first screenshot so you should be able to get the full contactless debit card. Just call up and opt in once you get your new card.0 -

Been charged more than the advertised fare/price is been overcharged. Here's an extreme example of overcharging!

It's completely their own fault. The only time it's not their fault is when the Oyster scanner is not working, or the gates are left open for football matches,
You seem to ignore (or maybe you're unaware of) the fact that people can be overcharged for exceeding maximum journey times- something TfL doesn't advertise [somewhat similar to OEPs where public understanding was very low]. Same with the fact that you will be charged a maximum fare for scanning in and out at the same station within 2 minutes- something that many do during service disruption. Many Londoners are unaware of the 2 of the numerous reasons for overcharging I've mentioned until they fall victim to it!greenorange wrote: »but there's systems in place to ensure customers aren't overcharged in those situations as mentioned in that article.
Those systems are clearly not perfect and as refunds require further tube travel they aren't any use for infrequent tube travellers or tourists (or those only visiting London for a specific event).
Still with CPC you could potentially still be left with fees for going over one's limit even with a refund!greenorange wrote: »If you're stupid enough not to tap in and out on your journey, you deserve to be penalised.
Not knowing something doesn't necessarily mean been stupid! In this case London has many tourists who are 'stupid' (your words not mine) to not touch in and out correctly!greenorange wrote: »I've lived in London my entire life, greenorange wrote: »and have never been overcharged when using TFL unless it was my own fault (drunkenly not tapping out).
Anecdotal fallacy here...greenorange wrote: »My brother works for TFL so does not pay for his travel, however he has dealt with many people who have paid the [STRIKE]full price[/STRIKE] maximum fare because they couldn't be bothered to tap out. Their own fault.
What is his role there? Some TfL staff are clueless about the oyster system lol . It's a massive organisation with many office staff.greenorange wrote: »The TFL system doesn't randomly just throw an extra £5 on your journey for no reason.
the maximum fare is often more than £5!greenorange wrote: »You're yet to give a reason why people shouldn't use Contactless cards over Oyster when
the new regulations and accounts go live soon.
Still my point was that a maximum fare been levied isn't that uncommon. Hence it's a valid point for keeping Oyster with the full roll out of CPC on the tube.0 -

Yes there they are as people with poor credit worthiness are unable to get accounts that offer contactless (bar Barclays)0 -

First of all, I apologise if this is covering ground that has been covered before. I've read many posts in this thread and other threads, but I can't see through how to comply with the 2xDD condition on a LLoyds Club current account.
I have DD arrangements which I could transfer, but these are either quarterly (telephone, gas, electric), half yearly (water) or occasionally (credit card). I have savings accounts in other banks and BSs, but I don't know of any mechanism by which I can set up a DD to pull money on a monthly basis into any of these accounts from a LLoyds Club current account.
Can someone enlighten me please? Am I missing some vital information?0
