You really do talk a lot of nonsense :rotfl:0 -
I opened another TSB Classic Plus account today, this time by phone as it was joint, and was delighted when I was asked if I wanted a debit card and cheque book and was able to opt out.
Don't count on it working. When I opened my Vantage accounts I was asked if I wanted a cheque book and debit card. I ensured that both were unticked, but still got the debit cards!0 -
Thanks. I guess if that happens after declining them I could call and ask for them to be cancelled rather than adding them to the ever increasing pile of unused cards.0

If you ever wanted to switch your account(s) using the 7-day switching service, you might get asked for the card number, expiry date and security code. At least some, but possibly all, banks ask for this as an additional security measure. Adding another card to your pile of cards is therefore perhaps a good idea? My - pretty inconspicuous - unused cards pile is about an inch and a half high now, has a rubber band around it and sits in the safe, along with other important documents such as passports and birth certificates.
I do agree though that cheque books for al those accounts would be a waste of resources. I can't remember having been sent a cheque book without requesting one in several years now definitely didn't get one for the Club Lloyds (and the TSB Pluses, or the Coop, or Yorkshire Bank, or my Vantages and Enhances).0 -

I've not received one from Lloyds, but have received one for the each of the pluses.
Think I've got something like 10 debit cards and 4 cheque books in the safe now. The cheque books did come in useful when I wanted someone else to deposit funds into my account however0 -

Phoned and asked for a contactless card, and was told I couldn't have one as it was 'out of scope' meaning not available in my area. She said sometimes she can order them manually, but it wasn't available for me as a new customer, as I need to run the account for 3-6 months for them to build a picture of me, then they may be able to give a contactless card.
Looks like I'll be without a contactless card for a while then.
Does anyone know if the Lloyds Club Debit Card works at pay@pump? My card starts 492182.
So is the availability of contactless cards affected by your credit history ? i now have both a club lloyds contactless and TSB contactless. I assume it would be as with this form of payment the purchases are not taken off your balance for several days so you could go overdrawn. Both accounts don't have a OD facility but i didn't request one.0 -

I'm guessing so. I'm not eligible for an overdraft with Lloyds. If I apply, it gets referred and asks me to call them. My NatWest student account has a Contactless card. I'll ask Lloyds for one in a few months. Having a non-contactless online card isn't too much of a problem atm.0 -

So someone with several defaults can easily apply for a full current account?0 -
Can I just check with those who converted their Vantage account to the Club Lloyds one if you received a new debit card? I've done this on 8th April and haven't had one yet but not sure if I'm to get one?
Just a bit concerned as Lloyds have managed to lose two cards before when sending them out as they seem to be unable to change addresses properly and in all systems. Will call them up but better to know in advance if I actually should have one or not!0 -

Yes. You should have got a new debit card.0
