First of all, I apologise if this is covering ground that has been covered before. I've read many posts in this thread and other threads, but I can't see through how to comply with the 2xDD condition on a LLoyds Club current account.

Can someone enlighten me please? Am I missing some vital information?

Been charged more than the advertised fare/price is been overcharged. Here's an extreme example of overcharging!

You seem to ignore (or maybe you're unaware of) the fact that people can be overcharged for exceeding maximum journey times- something TfL doesn't advertise [somewhat similar to OEPs where public understanding was very low]. Same with the fact that you will be charged a maximum fare for scanning in and out at the same station within 2 minutes- something that many do during service disruption. Many Londoners are unaware of the 2 of the numerous reasons for overcharging I've mentioned until they fall victim to it!

Those systems are clearly not perfect and as refunds require further tube travel they aren't any use for infrequent tube travellers or tourists (or those only visiting London for a specific event).

Still with CPC you could potentially still be left with fees for going over one's limit even with a refund!

Not knowing something doesn't necessarily mean been stupid! In this case London has many tourists who are 'stupid' (your words not mine) to not touch in and out correctly!

Me too! I guess you could deduce that from my username!

    Anecdotal fallacy here...

What is his role there? Some TfL staff are clueless about the oyster system lol . It's a massive organisation with many office staff.

the maximum fare is often more than £5!

Still my point was that a maximum fare been levied isn't that uncommon. Hence it's a valid point for keeping Oyster with the full roll out of CPC on the tube.

Your statements are nonsense, and fall into the 21st century way of thinking where everybody but myself is to blame for when something goes wrong (i.e. paying penalty on TFL). In order not to derail this thread however, I'll leave it at that.

Many thanks to Herbalus for the link.

I guess what you are referring to are savings accounts which can be configured to pull a fixed amount on a monthly basis from a linked account using a DD arrangement. Yes?

In some of the latter posts in the thread, the initials OH appear. What does OH stand for?

    Your understanding is correct.

    OH generally means Other Half.

Received my debit card today which was non-contactless. Phoned and asked for a contactless card, and was told I couldn't have one as it was 'out of scope' meaning not available in my area. She said sometimes she can order them manually, but it wasn't available for me as a new customer, as I need to run the account for 3-6 months for them to build a picture of me, then they may be able to give a contactless card.

Looks like I'll be without a contactless card for a while then. :(

Does anyone know if the Lloyds Club Debit Card works at pay@pump? My card starts 492182.

Looks like you've been given the online only card. All Lloyds cards work at the Pay@pump though anyway. Its only Nationwide and RBS/Natwest that have problems at Pay@pump.

We both got contactless cards despite only having come across one place locally where we could use them.

I got a contactless card, but I never intend to use the card, so it don't really care about it.

Our cards won't be used either and just added to the pile.

I opened another TSB Classic Plus account today, this time by phone as it was joint, and was delighted when I was asked if I wanted a debit card and cheque book and was able to opt out.
