I applied for this account online last night. The application stated it was checking my identity, then asked which benefit I wanted, and then said they'd contact me in a few days once they'd made a decision.

So much for instant decisions these days. Nationwide and Barclays have given me a decision and account number/sort code instantly when I've applied in the past.

A club card and online grocery deliveries don't prove you are who you say you are, so are no use for financial products. They will almost certainly have tried to find you online, on the Electoral Register and on CRA files, but either didn't find you there at all, or there was a discrepancy with your application data and the data on the official reposititories.

After reading your post I decided to apply again with them this time the instant access account. This was opened online as soon as the application was completed. So don't know why I had to send proof of ID for the online account. Never mind let's hope they send my security number to log in with their reply.

You would have received an email which gave you information on logging in to select your benefits it included the following information:-

To choose your Club Lloyds Lifestyle Benefit and get more information about your options, visit clublloyds.com.

You have 30 days from when you opened your Club Lloyds account to make your selection and enjoy the full year of benefits.

    Login details

Username: is your Lloyds Bank sort code plus your account number. For example, if your sort code is 30-12-34 and your account number is 01234567, your username will be 30123401234567. You can find these details on your Club Lloyds debit card.
Password: This was given in the email.

They are asking me to choose which of the 3 options BEFORE I complete the upgrade. Can't login until the upgrade is done I think. Are you suggesting I can change my mind once I've chosen.

I have just spoken to Newcastle Customer Service and I mentioned this account (Newcastle Big Home Saver) and they said that the website is in the process of being updated so it isn't on there yet but both the ISA version of this account and the Easy Access version of this account have had their monthly deposit limit raised from £500/month to £1,250!

So in a year you can now get £15,000 into this account - I guess the raise is due to the change in ISA rules but she assured me it applied to both versions of the account which makes it a fantastic option imo as there are no hoops to jump through to get the 3% rate other than deposit at least £1 per month and up to £1,250, in as many deposits as you like and even if you miss a month or withdraw from the account in a month you still get 2%.

Link to the instant access version of the account and ISA version: http://www.newcastle.co.uk/savings/big-home-saver.aspx

Hope that info is of use to some on here.

Just to let people know who are interested that they have updated their website now and it states you can deposit £1,250 in these accounts per month. A good place for those looking for replacements for their Vantage money.

Did anyone else get interest on their account?

    I got 44p interest today...

I am assuming that you didn't have 2 direct debits pay out in the time between opening the account and receiving interest?

Does this mean that if you open the account part way through a monthly billing period you don't need to have 2 direct debits pay out to receive interest and also the £5 fee is waived if you don't pay in £1500?

That would be a fair assumption, being as there were only 24 hours left in the calendar month...and a DD can't even be set up, let alone pay out, in that time.

Whilst they mention the fee waiver in the T&Cs, they make no mention of any DD waiver. I think it's safe to assume they'll apply the clause from the 1st working day of this month, so probably best not to deposit a significant sum unless you can get the DDs set up and paying out before 30th April.

How long does it usually take Lloyds to email you advising whether your application has been accepted or declined?

I applied for this account around 1am on Wednesday. Noddle shows they did a credit search and administration review search yesterday (nothing showing on Experian), but as of yet, I've not had any emails or texts.

I've finally decided to upgrade my new spare Classic account to Club Lloyds!

I'm waiting for 2 CC DDs to be added, so I'll keep my funds in my S123 for the time being.
