My reading of the T&C's is that only the interest rate is dependent on two DD's the rest is dependent only on £1500 a month going in the account.

    Is this right?

Yes, the DD's are for the interest, the £1,500 is to waive the £5 fee.

For those who have opened this account, did you receive a Contactless debit card?

Does Lloyds issue Contactless as standard, or is it dependent on credit rating?
I received my card,( not contactless) within 4 days, the wife's card was delayed for about a week and is contactless. Do not understand why, so will have to ring them. As of today we have still not received the welcome pack re. Benefits.

I don't think there is much of a welcome pack - there is a website that details everything.

Your login is your sort code and account number, and the password gets emailed to you literally instantly after your application. It might have ended up in your spam folder.

I've deposited £5000 into my new account, but set up 2 direct debits, but they will take 10 working days to take the first payment, on 1 May.

Does anyone know whether Lloyds enforce the rule strictly in the first month, so that they won't pay any interest for April?

Can anyone point me to a list of the magazine options please? Seems the upgrade option on the website is asking me to choose between cinema tickets, society sub or magazine before letting me know exactly which magazines are available.

I believe the DD have to go out in month 1.

For a short term option, open 2x Tesco instant saver accounts and to a manual pull.

Hope you have better luck with Tesco than me!! Tried to open an account with them to set up a direct debit with Lloyds Club. At the end of my application they stated they needed to write to me to enable more checks. Today I received a letter asking me to send proof of ID and address with their letter. This is despite holding a Tesco club card and regularly having grocery orders delivered to my address. They obviously don't do an online check. Couldn't find any 0800 numbers for them to ring to complain. I also typed a letter asking them to also send me a temporary security number to register for online banking with their acceptance letter.

My Post Office direct debit which was applied for at the same time is sitting nicely in my Llloyds Club account.

A club card and online grocery deliveries don't prove you are who you say you are, so are no use for financial products. They will almost certainly have tried to find you online, on the Electoral Register and on CRA files, but either didn't find you there at all, or there was a discrepancy with your application data and the data on the official reposititories.
