At the moment, I don't have enough money available to get the 4% interest (money is split between Nationwide & TSB, all getting 5%, and Bank of a Scotland Vantage getting 3%) but if I moved my BoS money, I'd only get 2% which is less than I'm getting currently. I also have a santander 123 account for bills and spending so at the end of the month it would be under £3000 if I moved any money out.

However I'm thinking of opening a Club account yo get the regular saver getting 4%.

Could I fund the current account with £1500 each month then transfer £1300 back out, and pay £200 to the regular saver?

I estimate that I'll have over £4000 in May/June when I could start using the current account for interest (after setting up 2 DDs)

Is there anything I'm missing that stops me doing this? Does the current account need to be interest earning for the regular saver interest to kick in?

I've just done the same, its due to go through tomorrow (31st); will it complete tomorrow or will it take 3 days, if it does go through tomorrow that could mean an extra £400 worth of interest over the year because you could amend the Standing Order so another payment is take a few days into April.

    Not so as.........

"This standing order must reach your account by the 25th of each month for it to be counted as that month's payment"

Probably better to open 21st-24th with an immediate £400 and then another on the 1st (IF its PCM and they permit a change to the SO date)

I'm having the same trouble opening a new account for the missus as I had. The application succeeds but is insistent on creating a new internet banking ID which I don't want to do. It wont let you proceed and finalise the application unless you set Internet banking up with a new ID. It wont let you put in your existing one.

I called this afternoon and they will try and consolidate my two separate ID's on Monday. They gave me some do$h for keeping me hanging on the phone for half hour trying to sort it out.

Has anyone managed to open an account with their normal account existing internet banking user ID?

Does anyone know what the Username is for the Clublloyds site on which you can manage the benefits, i.e. magazine subscriptions etc. Although I have upgraded our Classic account to Club I haven't received any information about how to log in to the ClubLloyds site.

    Thanks

I received the following by email:
Username: is your Lloyds Bank sort code plus your account number. For example, if your sort code is 30-12-34 and your account number is 01234567, your username will be 30123401234567.
I also received a password, but I don't know if it's the same for everyone - the email was pretty generic, so it may be. Mine starts "94Y".

This was after declining a benefit.

The username should be your sort code and account number (no spaces or hyphens) and your password should be emailed to you (from Club Lloyds).

However I've just set up my account and tried to enter the sure and it's not accepting my password, despite copying and pasting from the email.

Anyone else having trouble logging it? Might take time to update since it seems to be an external company's website

I've tried to reapply for the missus when I closed the original application because I didn't want a new Internet banking ID. I'm now getting an error message saying you already have applied for a current account.

The site seems to want existing customers to upgrade not create a new account under an existing internet banking ID.

Anyone been able to add a new account to their existing Internet banking profile or have people been upgrading?

When you go on the upgrade screen it warns you that you will lose your existing benefits. I clearly don't want to lose the 3% on an existing Vantage until after July. I just want another new Club account.

I logged in, then went to open the Club Lloyds. They made me log in again (bit annoying) and enter all my basic data (name, address, time at address etc etc) again (also a bit annoying ). Took less than 5 minutes overall to get the sort code and account number. I never tried to upgrade any of my existing accounts since I didn't want to upgrade.

When I logged into Internet banking again, the account was showing ok. They seem to be using some cookies to link a new application with an existing customer.

Have you tried to clean your cookies, cache, browsing history?

Might be best to open up a classic account and once it show up on internet banking. Apply for an upgrade. From my experience additional account do not carry a credit check.

However if you just click to open up a Club account and complete full application you will be credit checked. I think Lloyds will use your application details to match existing account. If that fails then you will get a new user id and password.

I have the "Remember my user id" ticked on the login page, so maybe they used that to link the new account with my existing ones?
