lol ... cool thread ...... and as a max holder now i presume i qualify to post
20k in 2 months has won me 50 quid , well see what 30k does , im nearly fully invested in isas but i agree it is a gamble that can cost you hundreds if not thousands of ££££££££'s
but then there is the big prizes to go for .0 -
Did quite well last year, but seems to have tailed off since interest rates started going up..! With 1-5 year fixed rates at or near 6.5%, maybe time to move to a guaranteed win.0

I have several hundred £. Never had a single bite.
My brother who has less than me wins every couple of months. I kid you not. Has been going on for years and years:mad:
If it wasnt for the fact that the parents bought them for us I would have ditched them long ago.
I AM A PREMIUM BOND LOSER.0 -

Ditto, same year, same amount, same reason, it must have been the fashion of the day.
I also hold £35 from 1979 and never had a return from them either. Even the £200 bought within the last year are yet to show any return.
I definitly qualify as a 'PB loser', is there a prize for the biggest holding without a win of any kind?0 -
Got the max and until May done fine with them...since nothing. Thing i find annoying is that although they have raised the payouts as interest rates have risen they have stuck with the 24000 to 1 ratio so the number of large wins has increased when i would have rather seen the number of £50 and £100 being increased. IF rates go up again on Thursday i hope they look to change this as % returns are becoming skewed.
Yes, me too.
Since April I was always winning something. But the last three months - nothing.
It's very odd.0 -

Yes it definitely was the fashion in the late 50's / early 60's. Our Gran bought us all one as a christening present. My cousin cashed hers in in the 1970's and bought herself a pair of bell-bottom trousers with the money.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.

£1,000 put in since september 2005. Nothing won, proves that premium bonds are a waste of time because i should of won a prize by now. I would of earned £75.48 on interest if i left them with the rest of my savings.
Cash IS King, That way you cant lose.Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE:A Single, 27, Aspie, Gooner :A0 -
I won 5 x £50 last year - but then, nothing since January ! Getting bored now.....0

Hmmmm Mrs.Pobby and I have 54k in premium bonds.Certainly the return is less than having it stashed in the bank.So I am intending to cash out !0

When I first bought mine last year, I was winning nearly every month, then the wins dried up and have only had 2 wins of £50 so far this year. A colleague of mine has the full 30k and wins nearly every month, he's had about £700 this year so far!
I have around 11k and bought extra ones when I sold my old car and my bike and have invested £100 every month, as well as investing the winnings, so maybe as mine aren't in a block, chances of winning are slimmer, so I have cashed in 10k and will reinvest when the money is in my bank account.
Fingers crossed. If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen!
