I can't even get in contact with him to let him know what has happened. He might not even notice seeing as he uses the phone so seldom, but it would be just like the thing if he needed it.

For what its worth my mobile still rings so I can receive incoming calls. I just can't make outgoing calls. Which is partly why I didn't notice they had closed for two days.

You dont need to be on a pay monthly contract its available on payg.

Yes, just spotted that and amended my post; really annoying I don't get Three coverage at home as 321 would otherwise be a no-brainer for me.

It was only turned off early yesterday evening; my wife called me from her Ovivo phone around 5:30pm and I first noticed something was wrong with mine just after 6pm.

That we can still receive incoming calls and texts is a small mercy at least; it's not clear how long that will continue but they will be getting some revenue from termination fees at least so there is probably some leeway in allowing that to continue will people migrate off (hopefully with our PACs!).

Well at least we won't have to listen to posters, constantly ranting on about the benefits anymore!

    I wouldn't think that a safe assumption.

My White Mobile sims have now been ordered.

White (on EE network) is a good choice if you have several family and friends on Ovivo who all need to move to another network (and mostly call and text each other) as it has free calls and texts within network.

Yes, I know some other networks also do this, but White has the cheapest rates for out of network calls and texts for any network that is free within network (if you know what I mean)
    https://www.whitemobile.com/white-mobile-rates/

    Yes, it isn't as cheap as Three's 3 2 1, but 3 2 1 doesn't have free calls and texts within network.

White also has free voicemail and cheap calls to other countries.

Top value for people who are heavy users within network and light users to other networks. And if you suddenly need to make lots of out of network calls one particular month for any reason, there are bundles.

It's worth looking a bit sideways at this.

It's possible from plenty of phones now to use using VoIP to make calls, via wifi or even over 3g data.

Doing that via wifi at work and home, and maybe a couple of other favourite places, for rates from fractions of a penny a minute, might leave not so many actually mobile calls needing to be made.
  • Dont forget you can use https://www.weq4u.co.uk for cheaper 08xx calls.

Eg if you were onThree payg 3 2 1 it would cost you 3p a minute to call them if they are on the database, plus they offer to call you back.
