So a Three 321 sim is like the old PAYG deals, if I get one then top up with £10 and only use it for data at 1p/mb then I effectively get 1000mb and there is no time limit?
Can I use it for that - just data?
I only want a sim for data use for email and occasional web browsing/gps mapping use and have no need for voice as I have a works phone for that.
So to me its either giffgaff with a £5/pm data pack or a 321.
Three is not such a great signal round here, neither is vodaphone tbh, but in the house I'd use wifi and only really want it when out & about/at work where the signal is usually much better.
Any advice?
(phone is an N7000/note 1)
That sounds ok to me, just data if you wish, and no time limit.
Whether to go for giffgaff depends really on how much you use in as month, and there's potentially quite a variation in how much that would be.
Forgive me if this is all stuff you already know -
If the email is set up to be pinged for updates every few minutes, this uses some data even if there are no new ones, whereas just checking manually once in a while will be more modest.
Also you can set to headers only and just read a couple of important ones and leave the rest until you're in wifi. On my Nokia E51 that would use 50 or 60 kilobytes.
Web browsing you can use Opera Mini which compresses data, and even turn images off most of the time. Sometimes it's surprising how much browsing you can do for only 100 kilobytes or so0 -

actually very good find. I thought I got a good deal with asda mobile but this wins it hands down.
Three is OK around here so I'll order it.0 -
Cheers but I cant find(with the minimum use proviso)
the giffgaff offer most likely wont work for me as I doubt i'll get my puc code now.0 -
Got my pac after about 12 hours. Now I'm unsure if I should go with asda £5 mth. Or three 321.
I was using maybe 5 mb a day half dozen texts and virtually no minutes.0 -
Can you confirm you received a code in this format, OVI173559?Any posts by myself are my opinion ONLY. They should never be taken as correct or factual without confirmation from a legal professional. All information is given without prejudice or liability.0

Cheers but I cant find so what is that?
Just that you need to make a call/text or use the internet at least once in 6 months. If you were to make no use of the sim for more than 6 months it could be deactivated by the network.Hi Thanks for that. I was putting a one instead of an I- all done.
Easy mistake, glad you got it sorted.====0 -
OK cheers - I would certainly be using it for that.
Then IMO the 321 is best for me (assuming coverage works) as a £5 giffgaff data pack will expire in 30 days even if I have only used 200mb, use more than 500mb and I have to top up just like I'll have to top up with a 321 after 1000mb anyway.
Cheers.0 -
BLOOMING HECK!
I got a pac code after about an hour!0 -
I signed up for 3's 3-2-1 payg deal.
Put £10 credit on and I got a bonus of 150Mb and 600 texts to use before end of june.
Just waiting for my number to port now0
