But they weren't. Had it been that attractive to mainstream customers, and Vodafone thought it was possible to make it work on that scale they would surely offer their own ad funded service.
Contractual issues aside, at least they would be getting revenue from customers on one of their MVNOs. Assuming a large proportion of former Ovivo customers now move to O2, EE, Three or one of their MVNOs revenue from those customers is now lost completely.0 -
PAC code updates are now available on the ovivomobile website, just click the "yes" option if you've already made the request and it takes you on from there. Very simple process
Call it cynicism, but didn't Vodafone buy Cognatel in the not too distant past? I wouldn't allege that a fine upstanding tax paying corporation with an unblemished customer service record buys a company to stop the success of a competitor & then pulls the plug, but I have to confess the thought did cross my mind!0 -

The faciilty http://ovivomobile.com/pac.php to do so has been available since yesterday.;)0 -
Own fault really you should NEVER rely on a FREE network for safety/emergencies!!
Which suggests you need two SIMs, but why would you have two?londonTiger wrote: »Should have taken lessons from previous ad supported services. During g early 2000 there were ad windows that used to display native ads above the start bar. There were about 15 companies and they all went away.
I believe there was an ad supported isp that couldn't make it work either.
I think all these cheap/free services eventually get swamped by people who never want to spend any money, like students, cheapskates etc and end up shutting down the revenue stream
Like most of the people on here.
Remind me what this website is all about...Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Loved the quote about MSE "arselickers"
But just how can this happen again?

Looks like the company has been set up and run by a few "dicks".
My experience of OVIVO was that they were trying to raise income by getting commission from sales of tat that they kept promoting to the customer base.
I saw hardly any (or perhaps zero) adverts produced by other companies as you'd see on youtube or T, they were all OViVO promotion sheets saying heres a great deal to save 25% on some product or other the retailer of which OVIVO had done a commission deal with.
I daresay the directors took their cash and ignored the business sense of some of their staff. Directors that it seems had no idea how to derive income from its customers and made it all conning gullible "investors" jumping on the crowdfunding hype0 -

Just in case one is useless where you are or you have reasons to have 2.
I have had dual sim phones for 2 years now just ordered another (on a slow boat from china) would never go back to single sim again.
2 networks gives better possibility of not being in a network dead spot.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

The best conspiracy theory so far on this.0
