Speak to your Mum!

Hello again just wanted to share my news with you, DS1 aged 17 has finally got a job!:j :j :j nothing exciting just a job at little Chef, part time for a few weeks then full time:T but he has been out of work for what feels like months.tomorrow he is checking out a place where he can hire a moped at a very reasonable rate to get to work, it is something to do with the Job Centre to help young people in rural areas get to work. Until then we will have to take him(5 miles) but luckily my sister, BIL and Mum will help out.He has his driving test next week:eek:
Had DS2s parents evening and he's miles behind with his course work(year 10 at the moment) This is due to a long standing organisational problem due to his semantic pragmatic language disorder( bit of a mouthful but its like Aspergers Syndrome) In class he is doing well and knows his stuff but its the written work, homework and coursework that lets him down. I do try and help him but its hard when I work shifts to ensure he's doing what he should but I'll just have to try harder to keep him on track. He's also lost some vital work that he'll have to redo.
Anyway tea is cooking, salmon and roasted veggies for me - yum yum am starving!
hello to fishcake_random!:hello:
anyway must get on with the chores, will eventually read the rest of the thread!

Hi Guys ,
not very good news I'm afraid , but I am trying to stay positive and upbeat. Thank you for all your good wishes .I have to see the surgeon next Monday then its an op. followed by radio&chemo therapy. Been with youngest DD tonight hence the late posting. At least I know now what has to be done, and early diagnosis gives a better prognosis apparently.Bit shellshocked at the moment ,but I have had worse days in my life and survived them .Now I know exactly whats going on then I know that a positive mental attitude will help along with everything else .The Doctor told me that the next year won't be pleasant but hopefully it will mean that I will be around a lot longer than if it hadn't been picked up.
The girls are in a bit of a state and I have been trying to keep them laughing with a spot of 'black humour' .
I will do my best to beat this thing It didn't get me 27 years ago and it sure ain't going to get me now .Thanks once again for all of your thoughts and prayers .
Cheers JackieO a.k.a.(the toughest old gal in Kent) according to my two DDs0 -

:grouphug: Jackie I am so sorry to hear that but how right you are that an early diagnosis and a positive attitude can and will make all the difference. You are such a brave and inspiring lady and we will all be here for you whenever you need to let off steam or just want to forget and chat innanely (like the rest of us;) ) for a while. (((Hugs))) to you and your family.
Love Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Praying for you, JackieO
Me too.
JackieO, just to let you know that my mum, a very good friend & my next door neighbour have all been through this and beaten it. Just like you, they are all positive upbeat women, and you can get through it like they have.
As your doctor said, it won't be pleasant at times, but they have picked it up and will deal with it straight away. And there will be some laughs along the way, when mum had her op she made some very good friends - all in the same boat. One evening in the ward they were all told off for laughing too much & making too much noise - sent out to the visitors room like naughty schoolgirls!
So I will pray for you & your DDs too.
(((hugs))))0 -
((((((((JackieO)))))))) So sorry you've not had the news we hoped for.
I'm sure your positive attitude will stand you in good stead, but don't forget if/when you need to rant or otherwise, we're here, broad shoulders at the ready:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
