Morning ladies (and honorary ladies aka N9eav and MATH... and where's Squeaky got to?)

JackieO I have said a prayer for you, I hope you have positive news from your tests.
    ((((Crazychik)))) Thinking of you today.
    ((((BusyGirl)))) and ((((AMIE's DD))))

Sorry I haven't been around for a while! I was flat-out all weekend, working my guts out yesterday to meet a deadline, and am now back to relative normality *phew*.

So why have I been so busy?

Saturday: Had a lie-in and then had to run around and pick up my dry cleaning before meeting my mum in town. Weather was foul so we opted to spend the afternoon undercover, at the Imperial War Museum. Mum is very interested in WWI especially anything to do with aeroplanes, so we went round the WWI section, and also the Children's War section which was really interesting. I wanted to see the Holocaust and Crimes Against Humanity exhibitions but Mum didn't fancy anything that gruelling so I will go back another day by myself and see those exhibitions. Anyway I saw Mum off on the train and then I went off to a concert for the evening.

Sunday: Went to church. Had some sad news - our assistant priest died of complications a few days after having surgery :( He was a lovely man, he did so much for our church, and I really feel guilty as I really should have gone to visit him after his op (he was in my local hospital, and nobody else from church lives in my part of town). I am not entirely surprised that he didn't make it, as he was in quite poor health, but it was still a shock. Still waiting to hear when the funeral will be.

Then in the afternoon I went to Glyndebourne with two friends. Our tickets were quite cheap (£15) standing-room, but it's the train fares and food that end up costing the money! Show was not that good  but weather was surprisingly nice and we ended up being able to have our picnic in the grounds rather than crammed into the few sheltered areas with everybody else :T

Yesterday I was mega busy at work all day (even forgot to do my weekly Pigsback clicks  - I've done them now though!) It was soooo nice to have a night in at last, though I still had a cop-out dinner of pasta & pesto! Having exhausted my supply of frozen HM meals, and had TWO expensive takeaway lunches in then past week  I will get myself back on track this week. I've taken a pack of organic sausages out of the freezer and will pick up some veg on the way home to make a casserole. Also urgently need to do a wine order (only got one bottle left - shock horror! :D - and for some reason I haven't had a Tesco Wine Club mailing for months and months  I have been waiting for one so I can order something for 1000 extra Clubcard points!)

Anyway I have rambled on long enough and they are paying me to work not to post on MSE :D

Hugs to anybody I have forgotten

    Rzl xx

Crazychik - sorry to read that you are not welcome. I am sure you and the children will have a fitting ceremony later on. Is FIL to be cremated or buried, - if at the crematorium, they leave the flowers there for the day usually for anyone else to go and look at. Might be nice to take the children there later to have a few moments and to look at the flowers?

Hope it goes ok, whatever you do x

Great idea by twink about the balloon - we do these on birthdays/anniversaries for appropriate people and the children really relate to it.

Late posting today, I did not go to sleep until after 5am, some joker came in the side gate to the complex after midnight and left it open, it clanged backwards and forwards for the next 3 hours in the wind, it reverberates through the complex when it hits the wall.........ggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Went to the library and picked some more books, enough to keep us going for another 2 weeks.

The weather is more like April showers than july sunshine..........we have just had another very heavy shower, the guttering above our apartment is blocked, so the water streams down the windows.................

OH is going to have a roll up with a freind at the bowls club this afternoon, see how he gets on, me I might well have a snooze............spag bol, and garlic bread for supper tonight...........I made a granary loaf yesterday, think I might have put a bit too much yeast in, it has sunk slightly on one side, although I must admit, it was in the BM a bit longer than it should have been, so maybe thats why. Have not sliced it yet, will see what its like later.

The sun is belting down now..........I wish it would make its mind up.......

We have a coffee morning in the complex tomorrow and then we are going to see DD and get the low down on DGD's trip to Paris, will also collect the cash for the dresser, which will help my overdraft.

Since we got back from the library, I have phoned and paid several acounts, got the water put on a DD and cancelled a CC we had on 0%, have just transferred the balance to a 2.9% for the life card, which will be cut up once we get it. I am hoping to get the balance paid off in the next year.

    Right thats it for now...............

    Hi guys

Crazychik - the balloon idea is great, they could paint pictures or write something about him and tie to the baloon, they often use this in childrens therapy. I have been trying to PM you but it says your message box is full!

Amie - I really feel for your dd, I only as an adult realised I developed a fear of school because I was picked on while travelling on the bus. Fortunately I changed schools and I had no further problems. Hypnotherapy would be a great idea for that kind of thing, its relaxing and is ideal for subcontious kinds of things.

Well as you guessed I survived the trip to Edinburgh and back and I didnt need a boat, infact we made record time up there on Saturday morning. My bf really loved seeing his son but the ex wife has caused problems again and now bf is more determined than ever to do the best for his son and wants to try and get residency (custody). The rest of the weekend was pretty chilled, we got some quality time together and it was really nice.

Now im back at work, feeling tired and quite stressed with things really. Im anxious as bf has so many questions to ask of people right now so we can consider if we can afford to make the court case more complicated.

    Take care everyone

    Afternoon all,

Anyone in the market for a used (37 years used) husband??? The new wm which it broke my heart to spend money on arrived this morning and OH is currently connecting it...there are prayers, swears a plenty coming from the utility room and just at the minute I Want A New Husband...or indeed none! No doubt when I use my beautiful new machine and it is wonderful I will change my mind as he is sometimes handy for odd jobs!

Busygirl, please take care of yourself....I had pleurisy in 1978 and it took me months to recover properly....I was young enough then to feel that I was indispensible and kept going when I could.

JackieO thinking of you this afternoon...positive thoughts all the way.

Amie, hugs to your DD, hard to know what affect things have on them sometimes so just let her know that you're there if she wants to talk...playground experience sounds unpleasant...not sure that moving her, even with best of intentions would be the way to go...have a chat with school and see what you can come up with.

Hilstep...good luck with interview...you sound very well qualified to me....more positive thoughts.

Crazychick, thinking of you and yours to-day.

Luca in all night, went out this morning ( he is usually out at night in one of the sheds) and hasn't been seen since....I think that he considers around 2pm to be his lunch-time, so hopefully will arrive then.

Going to play with my new machine...its on a test wash at present so we'll see how that goes, hopefully no leaks.

    Good Afternoon All

twink, great idea about the balloon, I will see if I got any spare, if not, Ive got plenty of t-light candles,we can light one each (adult supervision of course) Ive printed of some lovely verses & the Lord's prayer, and got FIL favorite song ready!
hypno - thankyou re the flowers, that too is a good idea, however, the funeral is being held in Birmingham, we live in Chesterfield, 80 miles away. Impossible to get there. Well - not impossible, just awkward at the mo!
boo - sorry, inbox is full, Ive had so many lovely messages, I dont want to delete them, I'll get round to putting them in a folder soon.

Well, cupboard under the stairs is sorted. It looks empty, listed few more bits on ebay, bag for the charity, and the rest for car boot (if and when the weather improves).

Got to nip out to the post office and post few parcels, aswell as taking my car to the mechanic as there is a tapping noise from the dash board when ever I put the key in the ignition he thinks its a relay switch!

    Slowly getting through the washing.
Must start dinner & throw in the SC soon.

DD went to Judo last night with her friend from school, 1st time she went and she enjoyed it. Lets hope she sticks to it.

    Right best be off
    Love Emma xxx
