You're a grown up not a 14 year old ...forget light and casual- If I got a text like that from a bloke who finished with me out of the blue-I'd delete it and him from my phone. How about this

Hi I hope you're OK. I think I've made an awful mistake as I panicked over something and instead of talking to you -I finished things and that wasn't right or fair. I feel I've messed up and hope you'd like to meet so I can explain properly and apologize Love xx

That is brill I will use it! The text is the easy part but I really can't let him get away cause if I do I could be looking at my life in 15 years time over the egg salad I will be making for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. #MovieQuote

Bloke speaking here, my perspective.

Following my marriage break up 4 years ago I met someone new. She has a horrendous scar on her stomach from a botched operation and was allowing it to affect her feelings.

She would avoid me seeing it using every possible pretence until I did see it one evening by accident. She ran away and locked herself in the bathroom crying, mainly it transpired because she thought I would not want her.

Guess what? it means nothing to me, I look at her and smile because I love her.

op, get in touch with him, life can be a very long time to spend wondering what if. If he cannot cope with it then I will feel truly sorry for both of you, but I will bet you the scar will not change what he thinks. Poor soul, he probably wonders 20 times a day "What went wrong?", "Why" .

Get in touch, tell him something went wrong and you did not mean to split. Its up to you, tell him or let him find it in good time. PS, my ex wife was a stunner too, high earner, younger than me but I would not go back!

I'm going to be another one who will tell you it wont matter, if he loves you he loves YOU.
My daughter is another one who has a lot of scars but from psoriasis, she has plaque psoriasis which cover most of her body, it's in her ears her hair, every where, and guess what her husband and her kids love her to bits, other people look and think they are going to catch it (which you cant)

Op - I am sure he'll feel relieved when you do tell him as he is probably wondering why you split with him and is assuming theres somehting about him you didnt like.

I am sure he will 100 per cent understand how you feel, and why you were scared to say. You sound like an absolutely lovely catch, a really nice sensitive caring girl, so he'd be mad not to. As for his ex - how comfortable can her new man feel knowing she already has the capacity to cheat?

Oh dear goodness please tell me you have text him! You can't let him get away - it will always be a regret. I have serious cystic acne scars and flares up as and when it pleases. No man has ever walked away because of them and I refuse to let them rule my life - please text him and tell him. If he is as good as you say he is then he won't care - the issue of the scars are in your head and he might be the one to help you get over it.
