Does Santander 123 give cashback for EE yet? They are coming up cheapest for me with the new E.On tariff next. The difference is only £16 which would reduce to about £6 if there is no cashback.
I was planning on avoiding the big companies but I don't know if that small saving is worth the risk of inconvenience with EE in its current state, so I'm a bit torn.0 -

Got that info off the energy club 4 days ago . on phoning Extra Energy today , find that the prices have shot up quite a bit , unit price small increase from 11.37 p p unit to 11.54 p p unit .and a massive increase in daily charge from 23.01 p p day to 28.77 p p day .
Researching suppliers and doing some maths , there is very little in the overall price between ,OVO, EON, and Extra Energy . been with OVO for 2 years now with no problems , so an extra 20 pence a week its not worth the hassle of switching to Extra Energy or EON.0 -
Out of interest, for those who are with EE, can you (internally) switch on to newer cheaper tariffs released by EE without a penalty?0

I did ask their customer service and they said no.
On another point they did not bother taking my dd for September and when I phoned them the reply was sorry we forgot. However they do now accept credit cards as well as debit cards.0 -

I am yet to switch over. Probably be in early November. If EE "forgot" to take a DD from my Santander123 account I would lose £50 interest that month as I have them, EE, and one other company taking DD's from that current account and two active DDs per month are required to get that 3% interest. Wonder if EE would then compensate me in that circumstance??Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -

Incorrect - 2DDs are required, they do not have to be used.
From the Santander web site:Pay in at least £500 a month from
a non-Santander account
Have at least two active Direct Debits
Pay the £2 monthly Current Account fee
For earning credit interest only,
have a minimum current account
balance of at least £1,000
I took that as meaning each one had to be "active" each and every month? Am I wrong?Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -

I have the Halifax reward account and because dear old EE could not be bothered to collect my dd payment I have lost out on the £5 reward payment for September.
The same thing happened when BG did not collect my dd in September due to them updating their payment systems but in compensation they gave me £30 for the inconvenience and Lloyds also gave me £56.00 goodwill payment because only one dd was actioned for that period and as such would not qualify for my usual interest of 4%.0 -
We have just signed up as a business customer to extra energy but it doesnt come into effect until end of year. They were the best price by a considerable difference. 8.3p versus next nearest at 9.3p. We are a big electricity user so I think we got a good deal. Paperwork arrived reasonably quickly ( a week or so). Will keep you posted on transfer process. However, its interesting to note that all the other potential suppliers are well aware of EE and their competitive pricing. Its also interesting to note that many of the big suppliers are trying their best to denegrate this new competition using scare tactics and rumours. So be careful about some tall stories and make the judgement yourselves. As a business they are the first supplier to offer us quarterly metering and no direct debit i.e we pay on meter reading. So this point is interesting.0
