  • Worst company to deal with ever.
My complaint is now with the Ombudsman, and I'm looking for compo of £100 from extra energy for all the fruitless phone calls and emails.
After over 1 year with them, I still have no idea how much I owe them and still haven't actually had a bill.
I'd rather pay an extra 100 quid a year and not have the stress quite frankly.

So, since I knew my fixed rates I could easily put together an excel calculator.

They've never billed me, but my usage is £967.55 and they've taken £840 from me. It's almost switching time and they're the cheapest. I'm in two minds as to whether I'd go with them again. They are the cheapest for me, but they're terrible in comparison to OVO and other companies.

#Avoid! I joined recently (1 month ago) and will be leaving ASAP.

    Why?

    1) Billing once every 6 months
    2) Credit on your balance not given till up to upto 2 months after end of min (12 months)term.
    3) Have to call them every month to generate an "Actual Bill" or they will generate an Estimate "HIGH Bill"

Doing some maths I will not make a loss short term by LEAVING, but in the long term leaving will mean less headaches, countless minutes on the phone saved and the Biggest Saving is My outstanding Credit balance will not be held "captive".
£50 to leave (£25 gas and £25 Elec) got £40 to join and will gain £30 to join another energy company.

Some people have said "hundreds of Pounds" held captive and not worth the “alleged saving” they offer.
Avoid Avoid Avoid. Also they make it so difficult to see your usage online. You will not save Money with ExtraEnergy but lose time and money.

  • I left OVO for Extra Energy last December. What a mistake! They don't answer emails, and although I gave monthly readings, they don't send regular bills. When I complained (again) in July, they sent a bill up to 13th April, using a reading from the 16th! I'm going back to OVO in a couple of days. Their customer service is excellent.

Not used OVO but will look into them.

The cheap energy club (MSE) does still state ExtraEnergy is the cheapest.

With all the Bad 1) customer service, 2)years behind in terms of basic services and 2) wasted time and money chasing for money owed via there over estimation (ignoring meter readings sent) 4) bad bill management surely it should be removed till they can sort them selves out.

They definitely wouldn't make it on any time-saving site. more energy wasting sites

what really annoyed me on numerous occasions they think a bill once every 12 months or 6 months is normal. Iv been with almost all the Big, Med and a few small energy companies and have never come across this ludicrous way of billing cycle and not being able to access bills on-line.

Worst web access and account management and tele customer service known to date.

It looks like their website has gone loopy again. My daughter is correctly showing all her DDs since June 2014, all 3 bills have been removed (although 2 of them are still available on the front page), there are 14 entries for 28/11/15 with no activity, no gov credits so showing her currently £1354 in credit. !!!!!! !
  • Ha ha. Just checked mine and it's doing the same thing.
    The mind boggles.

Has anyone used the ombudsmen, did they sort it or do extra energy ignore them too!!

    Lobster and Regis

I took the Ombudsman approach with Extra Energy after EE ignored numerous e:mails over a 3 month period. My experience was that the Ombudsman Servioce was methodical, albeit a little slow, but we got there in the end. It is worth persevering with the OS as:

    1. You are more likely to get a response from them than EE
    2. The OS will charge EE for using the service so there is a frisson of satisfaction in that it costs the "bar stewards" for ignoring you.
    3. They take over the chasing of EE - you just have to be patient

In the end I received the money I was due, an apology and £50 for the poor service.

Don't expect immediate results but it does take the pressure off you. In my experience, you will get a result in the end.

    Hope that helps.
  • Ok EE they said my refund would be back in my AC on or before the 29/11/2015 & Guess what everybody NOOOOOOO REFUND !?!?,

After an hour phone call trying to reach their magical and mythical
Billing department I was told someone will call me back . . .,

This company is AMAZINGLY BAD, BEYOND a joke, Don't be fool by there cheap Prices . . .STAY FAR FAR AWAY
