Add your feedback on energy supplier Extra Energy

No, it isn't.
It appears that the DD was set up on the 24th April 2015 ! The first payment was taken on the 9th November 2015 of £48.00 and states it is an irregular payment.
At no time have I been in contact with, nor Extra Energy with me.
The Bank are sending me a copy of the DD request. obviously I wish to know how they had my bank details !
So presumably your bank is saying the DD request has your account name on it? Very odd!.0 -
I've just received a bill for the May-Nov period. A month after receiving my first bill for the Oct-Apr period. They have reduced my DD yet again in recognition of my previous over payments and hige credit balance.
I'm relieved I didn't move away. At least they are getting their act together with my account at last and I'm not losing the will to live chasing a £500+ credit balance refund.
As EE are the cheapest supplier for me I'm happy to keep things as is for another 12 months. Fingers crossed that last sentence doesn't come back to haunt me!0 -

No, the person I spoke to was not able to look at the mandate, but has passed on my request, to have a copy sent to me, at least that was what I was told.
I have just discovered the following :-

Account taken over without authorisation
I rang EOn today to find out why I had been sent a bill for 14 days' gas supply, as they normally bill quarterly for both gas & electric.
Was told that Extraenergy had taken over my supply!
I had not requested a move, and never even heard of Extraenergy.
Am minded to send them a bill for my time sorting this out.
So it would appear that there is definitely something going on. Plus I have Economy 7 and they do not accept that. I also tried to enter the account no. that was on the DD and it came up as an error. Odder and odder !!!0 -
If the account name on the mandate isn't yours, I'll stick to my 'random' error theory!0

EE is the worst company I have ever been with after the first month they increased my DD by £10 and after I left 8 months later got an email saying we are increasing payments to £76 but I had already switched to EON and my payments are only £45 so much for their cheap energy and I am in credit by £100 and cant seem to get a refund what can you do when you are banging your head against a brickwall0

Recently switched away from Extra Energy to EON [£160pa cheaper] who now supplies us. Electricity only.
Fortunately we left owing ~£150 thanks to the feedback on this thread about credit refunds
Here's hoping they take a while :beer:0 -

Hi HHBB
Sounds like you may have been the victim of what's called an erroneous transfer. This is when an account is taken over by another supplier by mistake. Either supplier can put this right by arranging for the account to be returned to the original supplier as though it had never left.
We've a specialist team who'll sort this for you. Please let them have the meter serial number and your full postal address. It will also help to contact the other supplier first to let them know what's happened. If we try to raise this before they're aware of the mistake, they may object as they could see it as a genuine change of supplier.
Once the mistake has been confirmed, the other supplier will send the account back to us. We'll re-register the supply and make sure everything is set up exactly as it was before the mistake was made. You may receive some bills/paperwork whilst this is sorted but, in the end, you'll only need to pay us.
Can't throw any light on the Direct Debit though. We certainly don't pass this type of information on during a change of supplier. Hope the rest helps point you in the right direction.

My complaint was posted (signed for) to both EE's registered office and their business address on 22nd October, 42 days after leaving EE for "pastures greener". To date, no reply. Just waiting to see if they leave it the full eight weeks.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
