I don't think they're this far advanced, youravinalarrf.
They're probably still plucking the feathers or incubating the eggs!

Got my final bill middle October. told they would collect the balance owing by DD despite them knowing the DD mandate was cancelled mid April. I paid by bacs on the 20th but by yesterday, Friday, was not showing it being credted. I had paid a small amount early Sept which was. called energy yesterday. told it would be credited by end of day. it was not and still have not. I am expecting a threatening letter from ee any time soon. it's a joke.

EE have exit fees and I think that that should be a warning to any prospective customer, it will cost up to £50 to terminate your contract with them. This should not be allowed, if they are not providing the level of service that they should and are breaking things like the Direct Debit conditions.
I left early due to their incompetence expecting to pay the £50 (I did get £30 cashback and a cheaper tariff by using MSE Group switch). I had a lot of trouble getting a refund and eventually asked for the exit fees to be waived in recompense for my time. I got them waived plus an extra goodwill payment with my refund 5 months after I left.
  • i left in April on a tariff ending September, emailed them a few times & had to escalate to one of the complaint/CEO emails, but £50 exit fees waived without too much fuss. i'd just said numerous contacts required to sort simple matter out, incorrect advice on phone/email received & not billed in accordance with their own stated terms, pls waive exit fees :)
  • Just popped in to see if it was only me getting the site is down message when I try to access my bill.

My fixed rate has just ended. I had to email them in June to ask for a bill - 8 months into the term. They did send me an email saying I was coming to the end of the term and I expected another bill but no. I submitted a meter reading on the 1st Nov and sent an email asking for a bill. I must be one of the luckier ones as I have one showing on my account but I can't access it...

Their new fixed tariff seems to be the best for me, not sure whether to stay as I can imagine the hassle of moving from them could be rather problematical judging by previous posts on here :(

    Site is working here ok.

Amazed you are considering staying with them. Not worth the hassle as far as I was concerned! Not when there are so many better firms out there - have a look at this.
  • Another email to EE asking the same old question of WHERE IS MY FINAL BILL loooo0l, I'm now sending an email every 14days I'm sure it does not help in me getting my final bill but it makes me feel better . . . . .

My contract ended on the 30th of September and I decided to stay with Extra Energy. I really wish I hadn't. My final bill which I received on the 5th of October showed I owed them £1300 and my new direct debit would increase from £110 to £220. Realising something was wrong I phoned them and they admitted they had forgotten to put most of my payments on the bill. The new bill showed a credit of £212 and my new direct debit will now be £89. I asked for the credit to be returned to me as this is my money, they quoted 21 working days to refund it. On the 21st working day I still had not received it so I called them and found out my request for my refund had been rejected as it was under £250. They are now saying I can't have my money back as winter is coming and my bills will be higher even though the direct debit is worked out over the year. Anybody thinking of joining Extra Energy should seriously think twice . I will definitely not be going back to them next time.
  • you REALLY decided to stay with Extra Energy . . . . . . I will pray for you.
  • It is now ten weeks, seventy days since I terminated my contract with Extra Energy and I am still awaiting my final bill and refund.

There appears to be no independent recourse to get this matter resolved other than the county court.
