Had enough of EE; initiated a switch away from them today, worth the £25 cancellation fee.

Just got my first bill yesterday, 7 months after joining them. it's dated from February(!), uses an estimated reading, and ignores the reading I gave them last month. They also are putting my DD up even though I'm in credit. Gave then a ring, they wouldn't change the DD, and I couldn't be bothered to argue as they couldn't be bothered to listen.

Gone to another small player - GB Energy. Another small unknown quantity, but cheaper than EE and no cancellation fee, so not much risk. Although EE are a disaster it's not always the case that service is rubbish with the smaller providers. I use Zog Energy for Gas and they are excellent; shame they don't do electricity.
  • I signed up last September with them. As of 12th May 2015, 8 months on, I still haven't had a bill from them. If you send them an email it may take weeks to get a response. My advice? Avoid them.

ExtraEnergy is to begin sending bills on a quarterly basis rather than every six months, following billing complaints ...

Bad move by them to send bills out. Punters will find the bills are months out of date, ignore supplied and use estimated readings, and hike the DD's up even if you're in credit.

I predict an exodus of customers, when they find out what an shambles of a 'company' they are dealing with.

I assume MSE are dropping EE from their CEC given all the negative feedback, or wouldn't that be profitable for you ?

I received my second bill today - and when I managed to get on the website I could confirm that it was correct!

Not only that but it was six months after my first one - and reduced my DD by %10!

Regarding the £12 rebate - although it has disappeared off the bills/payments details, it seems to have been incorporated into my credit after the first bill.

Maybe, just maybe, they are beginning to get their act together (although far too late I suspect for many (now ex) customers.

We have just received our first bill dated 11 May.

I'm pleased to say this was without prompting.EE - having joined last September/October. It includes 11.43CR for the energy rebate (though that no longer appears on the website).

I haven't checked the bill properly yet though - it seems to only include meter readings/usage up to March

    Regards
    Sunil

that sounds like a cunning plan, they couldn't manage to bill every 6 months so i'm sure quarterly will be a doddle for them. what on earth could go wrong! :rotfl:

EE Website seems to me experiencing issues again today!

Anyone else notice DD's haven't been taken?
When I set up the DD, the first deduction was not made and so I phoned them and paid by debit card. Since then, direct debits have been taken but the online account is not being managed satisfactorily.

I took out my contract in November and the last meter readings that I sent them were taken 8 days ago. No consumption details appear on my online account and so I cannot easily monitor energy use.

Today, I tried to phone them to ask them to update my online account and was left on hold for an unreasonable length of time. Eventually, I ran out of patience and put the phone down. I have since put in a complaint by email. However, I don't hold out much hope. When my contract expires, I shall not renew.

They are an awful company - joined via MSE energy club, no communication prior to switch, no answer to numerous emails before and after switch, MD ignores emails, no communication with previous supplier, no communication with new supplier when I left them!

Went to ombudsman who found in my favour and ruled against early exit fees - I've never received the apology letter that the ombudsman asked for and after I left 5 months ago I have not received a final bill.

COMPLETE LIARS AND UNFIT TO EVEN BE LISTED BY MSE IN ENERGY COMPARISONS
  • Good competitive prices but their customer service is appalling! Phoned them with a query on 3rd March. Was told i would get a call back with an explanation within 5 working days.It didn`t happen. Have e-mailed them on 3 occasions since and have received an automated response each time saying "we aim to respond to your e-mail within 10 days".Still waiting for those responses:mad:Will be leaving as soon as my deal ends:T
