So this is getting tiresome now. I sent in 3x payslips 1xsp60.
They replied saying they wanted a copy of my bank statement
showing child benefit going in. I today emailed this over with the
required customer ref number that they have assigned to me.
They have now replied asking me to confirm my full name, dob
and previous name for authentication. I have informed them that
this will all be linked to my ref number.
Sick of this but not giving in!0 -
Dont worry, i have a strong feeling all will work out in your favour...but not before Erudio, the ghost of all things shell, has had its pound of flesh. You're not alone. I found it easier to send a pint of my own blood with a reference number so they could do a DNA test and verify who i was when i sent them anything, that way they could swab my thumbprint and ascertain it was me that sent it to them.0

I hope you get a decent reply from your MP. Perhaps the one plus for us is that now might be the best time to write to our MPs. With their eyes on the general election next year, they're more likely to want to be seen to be responsive to queries and concerns from their constituents.... Perhaps less so for those of us in safe seat areas but it's still the best time to contact them.
Good luck getting a good reply from your MP, I wrote to mine and got a reply to the effect that I was monopolising their time as I had rasied several requests for assistance with them within the previous couple of weeks on various matters - the fact that the problems existed in the first place and needed MP intervention seemed irrelevant, but thats another soapbox for another day. My MP won't raise the matter with Erudio, the FOS for David Willets, but that doesn't say that other MPs won't if you write to them. Worth a try, and good luck!
I'm sorry to hear that. Doesn't seem fair to ration their help...
Not heard back from my MP yet. They did reply to me once before - a couple of years about something, but it turned out to be something they were supporting anyway.
I think my MP - going by their reputation and leanings - would be supportive of us....but they're standing down at the next election so I'm not sure how involved they'll want to get. Worth a try of course.
I'm beginning to dread doing my deferment. Checking in at this thread, I can see things are still a big stressful mess! I'll just have to build myself up for the battle...0 -
Does anyone here know if Eraudio have the right to demand to see a joint bank statement to verify income, despite the fact that it will show no income relating to me, only my wife's net salary? The basis for my deferment application is that my sole income is financial support from my wife - a fact that she has verified in a letter sent as supporting evidence. They now want to see a bank statement. My wife will not submit her personal financial details to them. Are there any data protection issues involved here?0

Hi all, I'm in a similar position to Jonez - I've just received my deferment pack and am also supported by my wife. In the past, the SLC just required a letter to that effect signed by my wife, but the Erudio pack states that I have to send bank statements. We only have joint accounts and how the hell am I supposed to prove that I don't get anything.
It gets more complicated by the fact that I'm living overseas in Europe, but because we've had to move around, I kept correspondence going to my parents' address in the UK.
At the minute I'm really nervous - I keep thinking I should just go off the radar and not respond, but I don't really want to do that. I'm entitled to defer my loans but I just don't see how I can prove that.
I'm now terrified that I'll end up in default, with these loan sharks chasing me for money they aren't entitled to and if I default, then I become liable for the full 12k+ (and there's no way I can afford that) with the loan not being written off when I reach 50.0 -
Think you have to tell them that you have provided evidence in a signed declaration from your partner, and you will not be providing statements that contain private information and or do not by their nature prove anything beyond that. Make it a formal complaint saying that they have all the evidence required for deferment and you will be taking them to the FOS if they continue to refuse or make unreasonable and unjustified demands.
Don't go off the radar. Just keep being firm but reasonable, and complain, and use the FOS in the end if required.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

Thank you rizla king. I have written asking them to clarify how they derive the right to ask for my wife's income details. My big worry is that by submitting a bank statement I'm opening a can of worms and that they will start asking for an explanation of everything in the statement - for example, last month, my wife paid in a cheque from her employer for expenses and a cash sum from an account she holds elsewhere solely in her name. Neither of these has anything to do with me, but I can see them demanding an explanation that my wife will simply not provide.0

Just to let you know what I did. My husband didn't want to share his details with them so I had to block out everything that related to him and his support for the children and he signed it to say he didn't consent to sharing of his details and that the blacked out bits were his.
I also blocked out balances etc.
I got deferred ok with this. Basically it showed my expenses then - credit card (which I use for food shopping so I actually over estimated, if anything!), dentist, hairdressers, clothes, insurance - stuff like that.
He also wrote the letter that was acceptable with SLC previously.
Hope that helps0 -

I wouldn't worry about that. To be fair to Erudio, they were fine with me when I explained I was in this situation.
Just put it in a covering letter (that you staple to your form) and explain that you have moved about, but kept the account registered at your parents' address.
This was one of my key worries from very early on in this Erudio process, and it was actually sorted with a phonecall.
I've since been deferred. Just remember to include the letter.0 -
Address Status?!? Is this relevant?
It would be useful to know what information we should leave blank. 36 pages is a lot of reading - is it possible for a moderator to put a sticky on here about how to handle these forms in general?0
