  • Hi, any advice please? I bought a frying pan and saucepan in store in ASDA to use with a new hob. After first use of the frying pan we found it had scratched the hob in numerous places. Took it back to ASDA who are telling us they will happily replace the cost of the frying pan, but need to take the issue of damage to the hob up with the manaufacturer of the frying pan, it's their policy apparently. Is this correct? TIA.

Are you really saying that there is no way to contact Paypal?

Contacting them by phone might not be a good idea because you will have absolutely no record of the conversation.

This webpage looks to be a good starting point...

Advice Please: Bought a Acer laptop from Argos on the 5th May 2020 on The Argos Card with 6 months interest free payments. Made payments of £100 and £200 balance. The computer has a fault on it and when logged in only get a black screen, only  3months old. Spoke to customer services and told to contact Acer to resolve the problem. I'm I right in thinking Argos are responsible and I'm  entitled to a full refund (£100 and the balance £200 cancelled) instead of a replacement or repair?. What are my consumer rights.(It was home delivered and not click and collect).

This post is a sticky why dont you ask the question in the Consumer rights forum

  • If they don't pick it up, how long before I can keep it?
I bought a portable sink from a German company, and they sent the wrong one due to a translation error. When we tried to return it and asked for details they either completely ignored us or asked us the same questions over and over, then finally stopped all contact. Eventually we contacted Paypal and raised a dispute and Paypal fully refunded us. We still have the sink and it's been 4 months. At what point are we allowed to get rid of it without comeback? It's taking up space. Can we sell it?

  • Hi
    Looking for some advice please.
Bought a car from arnold clark on Pcp.  During mot in march we where advised to take it back as there was a leak and it would be fixed under warranty.  Due to covid and car running fine this did not happen immediately.
On 20/08 got in the car and indicators weren't working so booked it in for the next day and asked that the leak be fixed also.  After inspecting the car on the 21st, we where told it would be looked at the following week and it would then take 5 days approx to get all the work done as needs a new gear box and at that point couldn't figure out the problem with the indicators.  No word of any progress so contacted the garage on 27/08 to see what's happening.  Got a rude manager who claimed we where told initally that it would be two weeks before the car was even looked at.  He then wouldnt give a rough idea of when the work would be completed.  On asking could they fix the indicators and let us re book it back in for the leak we where told no and something relating to the warranty.  The conversation got a little heated with him hanging up.  Then contacted head office who only got back to us today.  Still no idea of when we will get the car back and have been told it will be two weeks again before it is even looked at.
I am a key worker and and as a family we need the car.  We pay £240 a month for a car that we have no idea of when we will get back.
Any advice on how to move this forward and deal with a company that is far from helpful?

Hi, looking for a bit of help.
I ordered a washing machine for my grand-daughter in March this year from Argos as she moved into a new flat and paid for it to be delivered and installed.
On the day of delivery she got a phone call to say that the washing machine could only be delivered to the front of her flat and that they could not bring it inside her flat due to the coronavirus as we were just going into lockdown.
It was agreed that she would wait until it was safe for a new date of delivery.
The problem is that the machine was never delivered and we have tried contacting Argos on the phone and on their online chat. but could not get anyone to help us.
Eventually we were told in July that they were looking into the problem and someone would get back to us, but this never happened.
Then on the chatline we were told that we should contact my credit card company to get a refund as the chatline could not solve the issue or give us a refund.
I paid the purchase using my Marks and Spencer credit card and made a claim with them only to be told that because its more than 120 days since the purchase they cannot help us.
I have written to Argos 2 weeks ago as I cannot get through on the phone and the online chat cannot help but still not reply.
I don't know what to do next.
We ended up buying her another washing machine as she did not have one.
Argos received £205 from my credit card for the payment of the washing machine but we got nothing in return.
    Thanks
    Mary
