Purchased garden swing (£63) via Groupon in June 2019.
December 2019. Two parts of metal poles holding the canopy rusted and broke off (one at each side) so canopy could not be used, I forwarded Groupon photos of the damaged items.
Contacted Groupon who initially offered Groupon vouchers. I replied I would prefer my debit card credited which they said could only be done if I returned the item.
I didn’t consider this reasonable as I no longer had the packaging and it may even be difficult to dismantle if screws have rusted - and frankly it took some time to assemble when it was new. I don’t consider 6 months a reasonable life for a garden swing and therefore don’t consider it fit for the purpose.
Groupon, to be fair, do reply swiftly to my emails but we are at an impasse as they say I must return the swing (they now say they will arrange collection) before a refund can be made.
i offered a compromise of sending the two broken poles (which, as they are curved, would still be a hassle to return but they have not responded to that idea and keep repeating I must return the garden swing. Can you offer any advice please.0 -
Hello
Please can anyone help? What rights and what help can a person get, if they order online, and delivery company say they have delivered and had parcel signed for, but I do not have my parcel? The retailer will not help as they say, because the courier has a " signature" then it is no longer their concern, courier say it was "signed" for so they have done their job. But I don't have a parcel?0 -

Travelodge. I have one night booked on 19th June at Travelodge Gatwick. At the moment the hotel is closed to ordinairy customers and is open only for NHS and essential workers.
They are only offering vouchers if you can't use the hotel. If this arrangement is still on on June 30th can I demand a cash refund?
In my opinion Travelodge is cancelling my booking not the other way round.0 -
Hello,I'm a newbie on here so please excuse me if i've missed a thread with information to me.Right, on the 20th April i bought an electric mountain bike from Wiggle on sale (3299.00)The order was processed, 0% finance agreement signed & completed so the bike was shipped to courriers hub (Tufnells Sheffield)It sat there for several days & no update from either Wiggle or Tuffnels, contacted them eventually got through after 3 days, i was told the bike was damaged in transit, so i offered to receive the bike to inspect, this was agreed but 3 days later the bike was returned to Wiggle, several emails later Wiggle stated the bike was correctly damaged & i would have to wait for Tuffnels management report to be processed, i replied that surely the issue was between the 2 parties & i should be sent a relacement, no reply, i then got a response 4 days later that the another bike would be processed & i would have to wait 12 days for it to be built. So, i replied & asked if an alternative could be processed, i explained i had no notification & as an emergency worker i cancelled a shift to receive it & needed a date, i also explained that it cost me money to cancel shifts so i needed accurate information.no reply, i sent several emails & had no response, so i took to Twitter & hey presto! i checked the status online & it said that Wiggle had cancelled the order & the finance company (V12) had refunded my deposit & my first months payment.I had no notification of this being cancelled from either company, the bike i ordered had returned to its original price after my order was processed to £4300, i had offered numerous times to arrange a replacement or alternative but the order was cancelled without my knowledge or permission, what are my rights on this?0

Hi can anyone help please. I bought a new bbq from a commercial seller on eBay for around £250. It arrived in 3 boxes over 3 separate deliveries and we had to construct it. When we used it for the first time, we noticed that 1 of the 4 burners kept flaming out and the side burner gave up completely after about 20 minutes of use. The seller offered me a £30 discount or a full refund following return. I opted for the latter. He is now saying I must send it back in a box. The original boxes are too small for the whole bbq and in any event they are now gone. I don’t have a box big enough to send it back in but he is saying I must box it before the courier will collect. It will cost me a fortune to buy a box big enough. Anyone know what my rights are? Thank you0
