Flowers arrived from DS. Very nice.
I have to say, I've never got too worked up about Mother's Day/Mothering Sunday.
I would rather have my children (OK, I know they are both in their 20s) home with me for part of the day than not here at all and sending flowers.
I do like flowers, but I love my children more!

Could you treat yourself to a gel polish over the next few days, Nikkster?

I love the stuff. While I wander around in woolly boots, doozer's coat and unbrushed hair, I have really nicely decorated nails that feel natural and it lasts three weeks. Reminds me that I'm a girl.

I feel bad. They did forget this morning and H was particularly unpleasant and then denied forgetting, which he did but didn't. Within five minutes of arriving home, the gifts appeared. They had been forgotten, left behind here at home. It's the largest haul I think I've received :o

It still would have been nicer to apologise and explain instead of let me be upset all day.

I guess I could, but I think the excessive nails will be going shortly after the wedding. They are already getting a bit annoying when typing, I'm not far off having to use the end of a pencil to type :rotfl:

Edit: and I'm not sure I could cope with having my hair cut AND nails done in the same week! That's a whole other level of self-maintenence :)

Pleased to hear that gifts hadn't been entirely forgotten - perhaps the unpleasantness was because he was peed off at going to all the trouble of getting them and then forgetting to bring them?

The mountain's coming to Mohammed tomorrow in our case - my mother's staying at my parents' flat in London because it was choral evensong tonight, and she's coming over to see us tomorrow as it is my birthday. Better a day late than not at all!

She got to see her other three in Kent this morning and for lunch, so she's not suffered unduly.

:) at over self-maintenance. My lady is my friend, so it's also an excuse or coffee. I feel a bit guilty spending the money but I also like supporting small local business and she is brilliant.

Yes, H and I just talked about it. He did forget first thing and the gifts were left at home. He admitted that he was not nice, that he was exactly what you said, angry with himself for making a proper effort and then forgetting.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow! You'll be the same age as me, I think? I've been 36 for three weeks now. It's okay; probably because I thought I was 36 already.

Nothing more annoying that going to all the effort, then losing brownie points by forgetting at the last minute!

Yup, 36 from midnight tonight, officially, and from 6pm tomorrow in actual fact (-:

Indeed, mine was made for appropriate reason.
