    I've been Money Tipped!
My mother is spending today with a friend whose kids are busy. I, due to circumstances am spending today I alone but am cool about it. I am cooking properly (ish) for first time in a while. Ironically I am making a roast of sorts which I am the one not that fussed about. :).

I decided to make a full sized cake only.....my skill obviously didn't come we me. I did bake a decent cake last week, but this one ( meant to be a peach chiffon cake) is three flat pancakes. The icing is a success. Its made mainly from frozen berries, so won't hold together long but is a bit healthier and more to my I personal taste than something very sugary. All in all though the thing looks as though it was an enthusiastic attempt by an eight year old :). Hopefully will taste alright.

Lydia - please don't feel like you've let anyone down. You're clearly raising two really lovely and thoughtful young people, under challenging circumstances. That is the most important bit.

James can't do anything until during the week as money is tight, youngest is tighter than a rat's bottom and Josh completely forgot to order the item he promised because of all the rushing about last week.

Not a card in sight, no cup of tea in bed this morning (my fault that one, I was up before them to watch F1) and I am making Sunday dinner because no extra pennies to go out for a meal.

Feeling pretty miserable, unloved, sorry for myself and forgotten about, especially when I see what others have received/kind words on social media.

I find that social media are outstanding at making you feel terrible. It's full of peoples' beautiful partners/ children/ houses/ holidays/ social life.

Like Lydia, I think you an incredible parent. I am in awe of what you manage to achieve. Your boys sound like lovely, independent-minded young men. Which is no mean feat. From everything you post, I have no doubt at all that they love you very dearly, even if you don't have cards/ gifts/ dinner to show for it.

Very good reasons not to be on social media! (I'm not!)

Hugs Sue. Can you reframe that at all? James and Josh care enough to think about it in advance, but have been defeated by circumstances. Youngest doesn't "get" special occasions anyway.

If there's one thing that's shone through everything you've said about your boys over the years that we've known you, it's that they very definitely love you.

Thank you. I have sorted DD out to send LNE's mother an ecard, and will get her to phone her later this afternoon to make sure she's received it, so feel slightly better about that.

Would like to phone the friend this afternoon to see how she's doing, but still have no voice at all, and throat gets more sore when I even whisper, so think I'd probably better just text her.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Breakfast this morning included some (free) venison for the dogs. Big dogs is finished, but kiwi and dog dog were out on the lawn eating their deer so big dog went and pushed dog dog off before I'd pulled her in.

Dog dog looked at me then waited, then....ran over to side gate and started barking furiously at nothing. While other two ran to side gate she sprinted back collected left over breakfast and ran off. I pulled big dog in, then dog dog tossed smaller bit at kiwi.

big dog doesn't realise what happened, some one fast went by maybe?

Clever Dog dog. I particularly like the bit about giving Kiwi his share. :)

I have to be for my website..and by gawd am I using it this morning!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I am not up yet. Have just watched f1 in bed. Not being a parent or responsible for animals is certainly liberating. Oh, and I now know that Benedict Cumberbatch is not only a petrolhead but really knows his stuff, which makes me like and respect him even more.

Best get up soon so that I can go see my mum.

Husband did the ironing whist watching the GP. I was a bit surprised at the Benedict Cumberbatch appearance

Desperate times. I am trying to persuade myself to get on with some work that needs finishing today by telling myself I can go outside and mow the lawn/ hack some brambles when I've done it.

Ooh - and whilst walking to the supermarket yesterday evening to source the curry I'd decided I required for dinner, I'm 99% sure I spotted some sloes plants in a hedge (privately owned land, but not a private residence. Very unlikely that the landowner would be upset at me harvesting them when the time comes), but they are right next to a main road, so I'll look out for some near work now I think I know what I'm looking for.

I also have a tree now in blossom in the back garden that looks very similar to a blackthorn, but I can't spot any thorns.
White flowers that look like blackthorn flowers, though with shorter filament/ anthers, only leaf buds at the moment. Didn't pay attention last year when I moved in as to whether there were any fruits. Will be interesting to see what it grows :)

She loves kiwi. They do get snappy about sharing prime space next to me. And he would share food with her.
