It has never occurred to me to deliberately smash things. Strict upbringing and all that. How superbly liberating :T
Maybe I should do it more often.
I feel I have represented myself as a wanton vandal.. Its not very often, promise. I actually hate breaking things accidentally. DH was amazingly liberating in getting over a Hangup about that.

My parents' village's fairs have a china smashing booth, where you aim cricket balls at various chipped and ancient china. They are great fun.
I spoke to my parents today, and my mother reported that Yossie had killed his first rabbit of the year. She thinks that now he's reached the grand old age of 10, he should be calming down a bit on the hunting front. She's been trying to drop subtle hints by buying "Senior Cat Food" but Yossie remains immune to subtlety....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I do like it. I had the disadvantage of growing up in a hilly city in a pretty hilly country. This vid (NSFW) was mainly filmed in Scotland and key scenes were near my school which was on the edge of what passes for Glasgow's Chinatown. It was meant to stand in for San Francisco, which tells you all you need to know about the practicality of cycling there.
In recent years I took students to the Netherlands and the sterotype is true; cycling is universal there. We were out in the sticks and you'd see a car about two or three times a day usually in the far distance. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

GDB2222 sorry for your loss, wishes of "long life" to your wife. hope the family are all coping.
Gen, please take things easy. I set myself back twice after minor ops by trying to convince myself I was well and not letting myself recover.
Niks, glad the heating is fixed. Freezing here in Chicago, walking between coffee shops to keep warm.
Michaels, I would suggest dressing them up in whatever part they are reading, it should help them feel in character and look like a good effort to the judges. Is this for entry to a drama school or a subsidised/ free place?
Sorry, on phone so its a struggle to selectively quote. If anything, I'm a bit too warm this eveningHopefully won't be needing to sleep wearing joggers and a hoodie tonight :j

Glad you got there ok after you were a bit worried. I'm sure you are flying with a great, safe, airline. Is this a Passover treat?
I don't know the correct term, but I wish the Jewish NPs a belated happy Passover. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

 from Chicago!
I changed planes in Chicago 20-odd years ago and was stunned by the sight of the Sears Tower overlooking the lake. I was at a regional hub airport where you got disconcertingly close to the suburbs; you could practically count the freckles of the people looking out the window at your plane.
All I know about Chicago is that it's got a disproportionate Nobel prizewinner output, and it was the setting for three of Bertolt Brecht's plays that I had to cover when I was studying English at school. Some of them exist online I hope ( St Joan of the Stockyards was one and "The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui" was another).
I feel if I walked around there long enough I'd start thinking I was in a Damon Runryon novel.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

She does realise he can't read, right?!
In fact, it's probably giving him even more energy by providing the right doses of vitamins and whatever else they use to differentiate the senior food from other types!!0 -
Have just got back from town. Treated myself to my 6-monthly haircut, and picked up some things I'd ordered from Boots (24 bottles of handsoap, they were on too good an offer to pass up). Boiler still appears to be working. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

First bowls match of the season went better than expected.
Took over the captaincy, as last captain went a bit adolf like, & made some bizarre team selections.
We've lost a few of our better players. Despite that, went to a game I expected to lose today, only for 80% of the team to win!
Onwards & upwards!:D

Not belated - Passover's late this year, like Easter. April 14th, in the evening, I think it starts....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
