Could I just intervene on an MSE point? Get some old mugs and old china from a charity shop. That way the charity benefits, and you are only smashing up some stuff they probably can't sell anyway.

I have some old PS/2 (and AT) keyboards here that you are welcome to. Transport could be a problem. It would not be MSE to air-freight them to you, and I expect you'll be a lot less angry by the time they arrive if I send them by sea.

I agree with the advice not to bother to work right now. Nobody (reasonable) expects you to.

Excellent idea. Can I just say, I don't personally buy mugs to break, I just opt for the cheap mugs I own, or broken sets, rather then the nicer ones I have.

I especially like breaking things I hate living with but feel obliged to. :o. DH has two mugs I really don't know how they have made the distance. All I can say is I must love him VERY much. I hate those mugs.

    :o

I find it helpful to divide housework into two categories - the sort that will need more work if you leave it (like laundry) and the sort that will still only need about the same amount of work even if left for ages (like vacuuming). If there's a limited amount of time and/or energy available, always focus on the first kind, plus anything with a deadline, of course, like making sure kids have enough clean uniform to be able to go to school! ;)

Sounds perfectly sensible to me. Prioritise clean pants and hygiene stuff, and fluff under the furniture can wait its turn.

Best to own lots and lots of pants so that you can't run out because you will have run out of something else (like shirts) first and had to do some washing. Well, that's my strategy anyway. ;)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I find that starting is the most difficult. I arrange a treat for the end - for example a nice meal. That way I can sit & appreciate how things look after having done the work. This stretches out the pleasure gained from completing the task!

Talking of laundry, I did 2 lots last night. Have to do a white load every friday, as the shirts need doing, drying & ironing for the next week. However with the nice weekend, I really wanted to get all the stuff out on the line.
Most of it is already dry, the second lot is on the line. I'll do a colours load this evening & get that out there tomorrow.

The daffodils are huge & look lovely! I only planted the bulbs last autumn, so at least I've seen them once! :)

Gen - set up a coconut shy in the garden. That way, when you want to do some damage, you can hurl balls at the shy, vent, shout & swear, but also get target practise!

Be great for future years too, as you'll become a great shot. Think of all the opportunities to throw things at the kids when they're naughty, rubbish into a bin, heavy/solid things at SIL...;)

Can I set up a SIL shy instead?

Those tennis balls tied to a stick games are great too, you can really whack them and get rid of a lot of frustration.

GRRRRRR!!!!! A damned autodialler has called me 11 times today, same London spam number every time (it is listed as a spam no on several websites) including at 8.30am waking me up. P*ssed off. Have had to disconnect my phone. So much for being registered with the TPS.

Well done on being able to express your anger, it's something I still don't know how to do.

Considering you are such a stick insect I don't suppose there is much breath for anyone to see...

I hope the boiler saga is now definitively solved.

I have a surprising lung capacity ;) Indeed the last time (for work I think) that I had to use a peak flow meter-type thing, the nurse commented that I had a good lung capacity for my height :)

Have just got back from town. Treated myself to my 6-monthly haircut, and picked up some things I'd ordered from Boots (24 bottles of handsoap, they were on too good an offer to pass up). Boiler still appears to be working.

Expressions of anger: If I was only moderately angry, I'd lock myself in the bathroom (that was the only place to 'get away' in our studio flat). If I was more angry I'd walk to the park round the corner and scream.

Edit: I have never referred to myself as a stick insect/ waif etc - and I don't expect I'll ever be able to do so :)
