Um, I've now down 80lb from my highest recorded weight ( over quite a long period of time) ; I'd lost around 20lb I think before that but I can't be sure. I've got around 30 lb to lose to get to my target which is simply to get out of the obese category and onto the 'overweight' category by BMI. Despite what the labels say, 'overweight' is probably the category with the best health outcomes for most people.

My motivation is solely health; I've had two blood clots in my lung and sooner or later if I don't get into the overweight category I will certainly have another in the next fifteen years or so with no reasonable chance of living through it. In fact, I think the weight loss I've already done is probably the reason I'm alive today.

Tom, I'm so impressed. You might just be thinking of health, but I have to tell you, I find the simple and sensible approach you have taken rather attractive qualities too.

    Meh.

I have to think up a name for DH to play under this year by today. Everything I think of is taken or doesn't pass muster with one man or another who failed themselves to sort it out by deadline. Grrr.

Condolences GDB, and well done Tom!

I'm doing a gear move in today (into our offices, having done one out yesterday), and DD1 wants to help me, so we're off to Nottingham in a moment to collect a Sprinter-full of equipment!

I think I've moaned on here about this car park being dangerous. This is why I've moaned!

    See you later!

It was lovely, thank you. It was fun dressing up and seeing everyone else dressed up. I came to bed at midnight, like Cinderella. I don't feel all that well, bit breathless and dizzy - I had 3 G&Ts and less than half a lager. This hotel is very hot. I do get anxiety in big social situations, should probably have taken some medication.

Doozer stayed up until 3am, I knew these people much better than him, but he's reversed that! Just eaten breakfast in bed but need to leave in a secnd to drive down to Southampton for DSs rugby tour with still immaculate hair!

This is just typical of me TBH. I can walk a few feet which obviously means I can ride 100kms.

Gen, I'm really sorry to hear you're having such a rough time at the moment and I do hope things will start to improve for you. I really mean that!

At least seeing the Windies beat the Aussies at the twenty 20 must have been therapeutic? Chis Gayle certainly enjoyed it!

GDB, I hope your wife is as okay as she can be and that your family is taking comfort from each other. I'm sorry.

Is it inappropriate to ask about the dog? Are you now dog owners?

Gen, I hope today was okay and SIL was on best behaviour. If she wasn't, then I hope you got some small pleasure in having an excuse for not being on your best behaviour and giving it to her in the neck, if you'll excuse the terrible pun.

Please don't beat yourself up. You don't have to act like things are normal.

We could have had a meet up - I can get there.
