She was being charming. She is actually quite fun when she decides to be charming. .
Wonderful. Best result.
Very happy for everyone..
Funnily enough my in laws are also behaving ATM. I sent niece a parcel last week with a note in it asking if they can tell me what they would like so I can send useful/ wanted stuff rather than just stuff they hate of which it seems there is an endless choice. My note was not quite shirty but not quite as diplomatic as perhaps it could be either. It won't have got there yet.
Yesterday they sent an email saying the hat I sent when she was born is a hit and one of the cardis so loved that the mother's family have had it made in two bigger sizes. If they'd asked I would have loved to sort it out. I would have loved to know it was liked. I would really like not to have sent I slightly shirty note.:o

Not sure which circle of he ll this morning comes under but Monday morning short an hour of sleep and FCC kjdly giving me 20 minutes of standing out in the pollen before 3 trains worth of people tried to get onto 1 already overcrowded train is certainly comes under the UN definition of cruel and unusual punishmentI think....0

And now a call from agent, they did viewing on Saturday and leaving tenant apparently pointed out all the 'faults' in the property to the prospective new tenant...seems a bit odd as she is the one who wants to leave without giving proper notice and thus has the most to lose if the property is not retenented straight away. :mad:I think....0

My advice? Keep the emotion out of it. This is a business.
Your tenant is the one that stands to lose out of you can't re-let quickly. If they want to 'win' by showing all the faults in the property then it'll cost them a few hundred quid. Indeed, if it comes to them suing you for not mitigating their losses you can demonstrate that they increased them via a fat mouth!
IANAL but I would imagine that all their main route to sue you has now gone, assuming you can demonstrate what they did.0 -
Happy Birthday to all NP with birthdays this week.
:bdaycake:
Just back from seeing DS's senco. I was very croaky but my voice did manage to be more or less audible for the whole meeting.
Quite a lot to think about. I'll spare you the details, but the summary is that my mind has been put at rest about some worries I had over his GCSE options, but I've now got some new concerns about the arrangements for the GCSE core subjects. Not that he'll be choosing GCSEs until next Feb, but I like to think ahead and make sure I'm well prepared for these things.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Ooh yes, another point. You're going to believe an Estate Agent? The prospective tenants might well have been looking for a 8 bed house on a gated estate or a small studio flat. Blaming the current tenant is a pretty good excuse.
Remember, all estate agents are scum (I only use that word because of the swear filter) and lettings agents are at the lowest end of estate agents.0 -

Hmm. That sounds a lot like me. I didn't get run over by the lorry that was bearing down on me but I'm bound to get septicemia in the cut I gut in my leg diving out of the way.
Please don't take that as a criticism BTW. It's really not meant to be.0 -

I see what you mean. They say doctors make the worst patients. When it comes to dealing with one's own kids' education, I suspect being a teacher oneself has some advantages but some disadvantages too.
I don't worry like that about DD's education ATM. I'm not sure if it's because she's still at primary, whereas it's secondary education that I know and understand (and have strong views about), or just because she hasn't got special needs so she can much more comfortably follow along the standard path. Both the concern I previously had about the options and my new concern about the core are direct consequences of DS's dyslexia.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
