I'm happy to change lock cylinders and so on. I can paint. But leave me out of queuing up at the chippy. I hate queues. As a rule, I'll drive twenty minutes to avoid a ten minute traffic jam. I don't have a yacht, but more than happy to party on Michael's.

Where as buying chips is much more up my street - or getting the butler to phone from the yacht to have them delivered at the next port anyway.....
    I think....

I'll not even bother stretching to a bag of chips.
    :)

Since moving away from friends and family, getting a permanent job and doing something that feels as much as settling down as I ever have, I decided that I wasn't going to let a lack of a significant other stop me marking what to me are big occasions.

I'd much rather have been toasting with someone, but I felt that exhanging on my first house - that I'd been saving towards forever and a day - and getting there with not too much help (and certainly no help on the paperwork) was something I felt like celebrating.

I don't need much of an excuse though.
    All ready to go then

    :j

    Done?

Depends what you'll be doing ....

Well, you've already declined my gardening services :)
I've also got a carpet cleaner and a steam cleaner if you're interested.

I'm in a good mood this evening (which probably balances out for yesterday...)

Something has been rumbling on at work for a while. Felt like I was being a troublemaker (have a bit of a reputation for speaking up...). Today others seem to have got 'it'.

    Also payday tomorrow.
And beer and curry tonight with the football.
    And tomorrow is Friday :)

How are you feeling after the op?

Not too bad, I was quite surprised by the size of the incisions because I had keyhole surgery on the back of my knees in December last year and that was just small puncture wounds whereas now I have two 1cm long holes on the front of my knee, although strangely they don't hurt at all even if I press on them quite hard. Still a bit limpy but I think I'll be able to run by the end of next week.

Well 1cm is quite small for a key.

I once needed an op and the surgeon said he hoped to do it by keyhole. I asked what would happen if he couldn't manage that, he replied that the incisions would be a bit bigger.

    No ... tomorrow.
I did, finally, get round to emailing my siblings to announce it though. One had known all along, secretly (although not too bright so nearly slipped up) ... other had no idea. Didn't want to wax on about it in case it never happened :)

I'll be able to run by the end of next week.

That's not something I'll ever know .... I will never know if I am able to run...... the best I manage is a bit of swift footwork if I think the really fat woman's going to get in through the chippy door before me.

    I hate it. ( Cinnamon)

And hate turemeric (sp? On phone)

    But I don't mind nutmeg...

Think it comes from growing up in an unspiced family where I didn't have a curry until I was 14...

I hate curry but love cinnamon.

DS1 once had a friend here who declined dessert because they didn't like cinnamon. That was the first time we had met anyone who didn't like cinnamon, just didn't realise such people existed.
