I signed up to quidco today and then used it when switching my electricity supplier. I feel proper MSE and stuff.

    lol/proper MSE.

Have you seen Martin's "club" - keeps you notified of when you need to change ... it says you get £X to switch, but I don't know if that's a one off, or every time you switch in the future.

So you join once, then keep it updated with who/what you're with ... and it knows when you should switch and who to.

As if not satisfied with having a 57 litre (or whatever) engined car to do the school run, that almost singlehandedly could drain an oil well, the woman next to me has had her engine on whilst stationary for the last fifteen minutes. Presumably for the air conditioning. My car says 19.5 degrees - if you open the window, there's glorious fresh country air and no need for air con.

Or there would be if the woman next to me switched the Range Rover off.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Well, you've already declined my gardening services :)
I've also got a carpet cleaner and a steam cleaner if you're interested.
I decline stuff because I don't want to put people to any trouble on my behalf :)

I'd really like any help ... but then also petrified of the human interaction and protocols and etiquette of such events.

I think "people who think they're posh by driving cars they perceive as posh" ... die if they don't have the air-con on. Certainly they seem to have a look of horror about them if you suggest it's not needed. I've not been in a car with air-con, so no idea how different it is. I, therefore, know that people don't die if they open the window.

Air con works. If your car is cool enough and you don't open windows doors too often it wall stay cool for a bit. You can do like you'd do heating on a very cold day, short bursts of cold.

Re land rovers, I guess modern ones are different, but with old defenders if you think you are only stopping quater of an hour and haven't done a decent run or about to do a decent run then you are quite likely to leave engine on. It takes a hell of a lot of battery to start one and starting for short journeys with no running time can leave you in trouble.

At uni special girl only lived a few miles from my halls, this is how I know this.

Well, let me know when I'm invited to nosey round and I'll find out what you need help with at the time :)

All I need is space for my sleeping bag. I can bring my computer and we can sit on MSE in separate rooms in the evening

No protocols or ettiquette required. I'm just about human...

I would say if anyone is 'safe' from the endangering you with 'etiquette and protocol' it would be Nikki - and that is meant as a compliment, I am sure she would put anyone at ease whether they are expecting etiquette or not - a bit like how really posh people like LIR do it but in a less posh way.
    I think....

    Well, if you're that keen....

I'm unavailable the first weekend of July (another parental visit), but other than that I'm available if you would like a visitor. I equally wouldn't be the least offended if you don't want someone in your space :) It's an open offer for you to accept or decline as you please.

I'm offering because you are my friend and I'd like to help. I've also had recent experience of moving into somewhere on my own and it made a big difference having a few people pop over.

Edit: I happily sleep on sofas, floors etc. I also have an inflatable mattress (came with a tent, but I've only ever used it when I couldn't bear sleeping in the same bed as my ex) and a roll mat. And I'm short so I can curl up in small spaces :)
