Missing you hun.
Hoping your biggest problem is that mauve squeaker won't eat the leftovers you cooked....... and that your absence is due to an unexpected and unprecedented piece of good luck ... that you're not allowed to speak about until later.
Thanks for writing this, PN.vivatifosi wrote: »Didn't lir say a couple of hundred posts back that she would be without proper internet for a bit? Maybe that's it.

I've actually broken down, and bought my personal domain (i.e. the domain for my actual name), done the nameserve thingie to redirect it to my host and installed wordpress on it and chosen a theme.
( Nope, because it contains my name no one's going to get to see it. Sorry:D )
Didn't think I'd ever do that... it's a bit 'ego' isn't it? But I think I now need it for professional reasons.
I also did an hours scything, plus deadheading in the garden.
Even if it wasn't actually needed for positive professional reasons, sometimes it's something you have to do as a defensive strategy - i.e. to protect it from being taken and/or misused by someone else.
Well done in the garden. I had high hopes of getting stuff planted out in the front garden, but a late start (couldn't face getting out of bed), followed by the discovery that my beautiful seedlings are now just stalks courtesy of an army of snails  , meant that little got done other than socialising0 -
I did about 3 hours gardening today. I don't think a scythe would have gone amiss. I filled my green bin completely and chucked some other rubbish in my normal bin and filled that up too. It still looks no different.
Still, I had Capital radio keeping my company from the living room and phone bird from the tree at the bottom of the garden. Still couldn't see it to know what sort of bird it is though.
There was also a very brave robin who'd perch a small distance away and show its catches and then eat them proudly in front of me. Yummm... spider appetiser with caterpillar main.
It was quite lovely apart from the bit where I got soaked. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I can't swear for sure either, but something to do with rubbish broadband providers and needing something done. Does that sound right? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Mas is also mia and he was having a bit of a tough time of later
I just looked - Masomina is online, if not posting on the NPT.
PN - you summed it up for me too. Have been thinking of lir a lot.
Didn't have any food in the fridge (had been running it down as I knew I was away for a couple of days). Had a voucher for Morrisons, so headed off there. Wasn't sure how I'd make it to the required spend....
Ended up in the beer aisle where I decided I'd buy some beers from around the world (well, the brands are I expect they're all made in the same factory in Doncaster or something) for the World Cup (e.g. I'll have a Spanish beer to watch Spain play, I'm silly like that - won't be doing it for every country though!). Turns out I had no problem meeting the mininum spend. And I still forgot to get milk :rotfl:
England v Italy is BIG DEAL round these parts (large Italian community). I'd quite like to go and watch it in a pub in town, but instead I'll be safely tucked up at home. Had pizza for dinner so it'll be English beer during the match (Oxford Gold to be precise).
If anyone's ever wondered if you can cook a pizza without an oven/ in a panini press - the answer is yes, it works surprisingly well  (really fancied pizza tonight, so much so that I was almost tempted to splash out on a takeaway one, then managed to pick up a yellow stickered one in Morries so thought I'd give it a go).

followed by the discovery that my beautiful seedlings are now just stalks courtesy of an army of snails  , meant that little got done other than socialising
I was very pleased to discover that my plantlets survived a couple of days of me not being here.
I planted out some chillies and bell peppers next to my potatoes last Sunday - the seedlings that I had left over as they looked least robust. Most of them have been munched by something slimy.
The potatoes on the other hand are blooming. If work goes t!ts up (as it looked like it had potential to do a couple of days ago), I might be able to start a potato farm. Or a plum farm (if they are indeed plums - whatever they are the tree has LOADS growing on it).0 -
On the subject of lir... didn't she also say about having the house guests, and also the opportunity to go away with fir for his work (in this country)? Could also be valid reasons for not being about. I hope it is one of these things anyway.

Here is a potato update
This was them last Friday evening (as posted previously):
and this was them this morning:
Going to pile up some more compost around them tomorrow.
Really should have spaced them out a [STRIKE]bit [/STRIKE] lot more. I thought I'd be lucky if one of them sprouted!0
