While renting, if anybody had enquired "are you local?" I'd have shuffled and said "er, yeah, renting a little place up the road, not sure how long I'll be in the area" ... now I can say "Yes, I live here, yes I belong, I am a local"
Its not the house of your dreams, but hopefully it'll (the stability, freedom and space) allow you to do more of the things you want to do. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures0 -

Idiot. If that was true, why didn't he call you earlier? And why did he only allow 15 minutes to view a house that he's going to make money out of?
And they wonder why they have such a bad reputation. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It may not be your dream house, but few people live in their dream house. I don't, I probably never will. But that's ok because this place is warm, comfortable, secure, quiet...

Short appointment times was the problem I had on first viewing - he was rushing off to his next appointment.0 -

I don't think people do .... but then you see so many saying houses are wonderful/perfect that it does put some pressure on you to like it
For me it's: new, walking distance of some stuff, close to some stuff, near to bus stops (in case car breaks down)... and I had to buy a house as the market was moving and I was hating renting.
The more "lovely house" ones were 4-5-6 miles inland and away from towns/coast .... they were bigger/better, but less well connected.0 -
I'd love to be 4-5-6 miles from the coast! I think its about 60 miles away here. As michaels says, its Hertfordshire's one bad point.
Though you can bizarrely go to the beach, albeit not a seaside one. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm really very tired.
I wrote a reply to a couple of posts and that seems to have disappeared. Take it as read that they were witty, erudite and direct while being charmingly quirky.
I'm going to sit up until 10pm as I want to keep normal hours as best I can.0 -
Well, just now I was out in the garden weeding, when an almighty downpour started. Purely wheeling my bin round and coming back in I'm totally soaked. And the noise from the rain has just stopped, so in all probability has the rain. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
